Manoj Kumar Patel currently works as Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics, National Institute of Technology Nagaland and doing research in Algebra, his current project is 'Characterization of rings by the property of modules like Injectivity/Projectivity and their extensions'. He has joined his first job as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Gurukul Kangri University, Haridwar, Uttrakhand, India. He completed his Ph.D. degree in Algebra from one of the premier institution of India IIT-BHU, Varanasi. He had published more than 40 research articles in the journal of international repute, including investigation of well-known Hopkins-Levitzki Theorem for semi-projective modules.

My primary research interest includes Structure of Rings and Modules particularly, Injective/projective modules and their various generalizations. Now a day I am interested to introduce some new structure of rings over which modules are variants of injective/projective.
Apart from this I am also, interested in Algebraic Coding theory, Codes over Rings, Cryptography and Graph theory. Theory of rings and modules have some beautiful application in above area of research.

I would like to pursue a career in an Institute or University or Organisational setting that will allow me to practice the skills. I have begun to develop for research and for teaching Mathematics and use it to my fullest level. I would like to also encourage and mentor young minds to think logically and possibly take up mathematics.
