Dr. Jun Xu is a board-certified physician, pain management specialist and the Founder of Rehabilitation Medicine and Acupuncture Center. Dr. Xu is also actively involved in global nonprofit work through his organization, Africa Cries Out (ACO).

Dr. Jun Xu is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.  His areas of specialty include pain management, acupuncture, physical medicine and restorative rehabilitation.  Dr. Jun Xu has built his career on restoring function, alleviating pain and improving the quality of life for his patients.  As Founder and lead Doctor of Rehabilitation Medicine and Acupuncture Center, he blends the precision of modern rehabilitation techniques with the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine — offering a truly integrative approach to healing.

As a Pain Management Specialist, Doctor and Acupuncturist, Dr. Jun Xu’s treatments are tailored to meet the unique needs of each patient.  Patient-focused care is at the heart of all treatments, services and care offered at Rehabilitation Medicine and Acupuncture Center in Riverside, CT.  Treatment at the practice focuses on conditions such as hip pain, back pain, lower back pain and cervical dystonia. 

Dr. Jun Xu’s approach incorporates both a Western medical perspective and a Chinese approach, ensuring patients receive the best of both traditions. Services range from targeted pain management and infertility support to acne treatment, cosmetic acupuncture and non-surgical facelift therapies.  By combining gentle acupuncture techniques with evidence-based rehabilitation strategies, Dr. Xu helps patients not only manage pain but also achieve long-term recovery and improved functional ability.

Africa Cries Out

Dr. Jun Xu is the Chairman of Africa Cries Out (ACO), a U.S. government-approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing medical care and education to communities in extreme poverty in Senegal, West Africa. Since 2013, with the exception of pandemic years, Dr. Xu and his team have made annual trips to Senegal to provide hands-on treatment, distribute supplies and mentor young people in some of the most underserved regions of the country.

Under Dr. Jun Xu’s leadership, Africa Cries Out has grown into more than just a medical mission — it is a bridge of compassion.  Dr. Xu’s work includes treating patients with little to no access to healthcare, teaching preventive medicine and inspiring hope through education. 

For Dr. Jun Xu, Africa Cries Out is not only an extension of his medical expertise, but also of his personal philosophy: that healing is about more than alleviating pain — it is about restoring dignity, nurturing education and creating a future where every child and family has a chance to thrive.
