Dr. Alejandra Hormaza
I am so happy you found my page. My professional background is in engineering with a focus on renewable energy systems. I am an Assistant Professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department at Cal Poly Pomona, where I focus on thermal sciences and renewable energy systems. I hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Irvine.
I am most passionate about advancing hydrogen for sustainability and empowering the public through accessible and transparent science communication. My prior work has focused on assessing hydrogen leakage, its potential impact on the climate, and examining solid oxide fuel cells from the cell to the system level. In this next chapter of my career, I am collaborating with engineers, scientists, and industry leaders who share my passion for building a greener world through advancing hydrogen technologies. I am always excited and open to new collaborations. Please reach out to me here: hormazamejia at cpp dot edu
