Government of India's UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION (UGC) Recommendation / NATIONAL EDUCATION POLICY (NEP) 2020 Directives / NATIONAL CURRICULUM & CREDIT FRAMEWORK (NCCF) states -
All Undergraduate Courses (General & Professional) will be of Four Years throughout India, however Exit Options are there -
After Two Semesters (1st Year), if exited, Certificate in Relevant Course will be Awarded.
After Four Semesters (2nd Year), if exited, Diploma in Relevant Course will be Awarded.
After Six Semesters (3rd Year), if exited, Graduation Degree (Pass) in Relevant Course will be Awarded.
After Eight Semesters (4th Year), when fully completed, Graduation Degree (Honours with Research) in Relevant Course will be Awarded.
Interesting Fact / Point to Note -
Those who will complete Full Four Years of Undergraduate Degree Course will be eligible for 1 Year MASTERS Degree Course for Further Higher Studies.
However those who will Exit after 6 Semesters (3 Years) of Undergraduate Degree Course will have to do 2 Years MASTERS Degree Course for Further Higher Studies.
In fact those who will complete Full Four Years of Undergraduate Degree Course will also be eligible for Direct Enrolment of PhD. Degree Programme for Further Higher Studies.
