The HAL4SDV project aims to advance European leadership in software-defined next-generation vehicles. By unifying software interfaces and development methodologies, HAL4SDV facilitates a hardware-agnostic software configuration model—laying the foundation for a fully software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture. As part of this initiative, I focus on developing robust security solutions for SDVs. In addition to this technical role, I serve as the primary contact for project management and contribute to key architectural components, including multi-criticality integration, abstraction layers, and the simulation platform.
FLOYD, a Research and Innovation project led by Capgemini Engineering, had the main purpose of building such a technological stack for offering high-performance network/computation services to vehicular users. Through the collaboration between complementary industrial and academic entities, FLOYD enabled the development, validation, and exploitation of a variety of components and technologies, addressing multiple unanswered interrogations between vehicular and network integration. In line with this project, the impact of commercial-of-the-shelf sensors on automobiles was studied.
ADACORSA aimed to strengthen the European drone industry and increase public and regulatory acceptance of BVLOS (beyond visual line-of-sight) drones by demonstrating technologies for safe, reliable, and secure drone operation in all situations and flight phases. The project drove research and development of components and systems for sensing, telecommunication, and data processing along the electronics value chain. In line with this project, Deep Reinforcement Learning enabled UAVs for data collection and a comprehensive survey concerning machine learning in UAV technologies was developed.
SafeCOP targets safety-related Cooperating Cyber-Physical Systems (CO-CPS) characterised by use of wireless communication, multiple stakeholders, dynamic system definitions (openness), and unpredictable operating environments. In this scenario, no single stakeholder has the overall responsibility over the resulting system-of-systems; safe cooperation relies on wireless communication; and security is an important concern. In line with this project I developed deterministic communication protocol for wireless cars and security analysis for the underlying CPS systems
