Welcome to Multi-functional Materials and Structures Research Group at Hankyong National University!
Multi-functional Materials and Structures Lab at HKNU focuses on research topics to address essential needs for smart cities.
Our research aims for:
Development of eco-friendly binder-based structural supercapacitors and batteries
Electrical curing and smart sensing of concrete using cement-carbon nanocomposites
Synthesis of biomass-derived activated carbon for conductive material replacement
Natural fiber reinforced cement composites (internal curing, rheology, sound absorption)
Sustainable construction materials (e.g., alkali-activated binders, sulfur polymer composites, recycled aggregate, self-healing concrete)
High performance fiber-reinforced cementitious composites
Earthquake-resistant design, modelling, and assessment of reinforced concrete structures
