Formed in 1997 in Seminole, Florida, Dr. Eric Berg, DC, The Knowledge Doc, is the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness CEO. The mission of the Institute is to educate the public about optimal health, dietary requirements, and the means of correcting nutritional deficiencies.
Dr. Berg encourages patients to take charge of their health and wellness, using the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting as tools to reach their optimal weight loss objectives.
Dr. Berg began his scientific research in nutrition after graduating from chiropractic college in 1988. A need to make sense of his food-related health problems drove him to devote much time and energy to the topic.
Today, Dr. Eric educates his students on various medical subjects. He is an expert in breaking down the reasons of health issues, identifying the underlying issues, and developing nutritional plans to restore health. His long-term eating regimen, which includes the ketogenic diet and intermittent fasting, has been widely recognized as a game-changer for achieving exceptional health.
Dr. Eric Berg's tremendous improvement in health, thanks to his newfound knowledge of the science of nutrition, led him to abandon his chiropractic practice in favour of sharing his findings with other doctors and eventually earn a position as an associate professor at Howard University.
His 2006 book, The 7 Principles of Fat Burning, was revised in 2019 as the Amazon best-seller The Healthy Keto Diet, thanks to the author's incorporation of fresh scientific findings.
His YouTube channel, which he launched in 2008, has over 6,000 videos, 18 million subscribers, and 100 million monthly views. He discusses his opinions on healthy eating and various other health concerns. Also, he developed a course for training Keto Coaches worldwide, which delves into the concepts of keto and intermittent fasting.
The goal of Dr. Berg's work is to give individuals more control over their health.
Since 1997, Dr. Eric has been the chief executive officer (CEO) of the Berg Institute of Health & Wellness in Seminole, Florida, after working as a chiropractor in private practice in San Diego, Louisiana, and Virginia's capital city of Alexandria.
After completing his pre-med requirements at the University of Wisconsin–Parkside between 1983 and 1985 and serving in the Army Reserve, where he received X-ray technology training, Dr. Eric Berg attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1988.
Additional postgraduate and speciality education was received from institutions like the National-Lincoln School of Postgraduate Education, the Southern California College of Chiropractic, the International Scoliosis Research Center, the Louisiana Union of Chiropractors' Risk Management Institute, and the LUCP's Center for Motor Vehicle Collision Injuries.
Dr. Berg is board-certified in Virginia, California, and Louisiana. He also holds certificates in microscopy, live-blood-cell analysis, and the diagnostic interpretation of neuro-selective current perception threshold. He also passed all three parts of the National Board of Chiropractic Examination.
Dr. Eric has been in the public eye for quite some time as an authority on nutrition science. In that time, he has donated much of his time, money, and public outreach to charitable organizations that share his interest in promoting health and well-being. Berg and his wife, Karen, have done a lot of good for the public by spreading information on healthy eating and exercise across the country and the world.
Dr. Eric Berg treated over 40,000 patients in his 30 years as a chiropractor in Alexandria, Virginia. The Library of Congress, FCC, NIH, FBI, and others have all benefited from his lectures, which he has given both internally and outside.
Each year from 2017 through 2019 (when the epidemic halted such huge public gatherings), Dr. Berg organized Keto Health Summits, the most recent of which was held in Washington, DC. Over the first few years, rapid growth resulted in an annual attendance of 1,000 doctors, diet coaches, healthcare professionals, and a slew of keto dieters sharing their inspiring stories of health improvement and rapid weight loss. Nationally recognized experts on the ketogenic diet and metabolic health were among the featured speakers at these events.
Dr. Berg's work has been covered in numerous publications and media outlets, in addition to his books, including CBS Nightly News on Channel 9, Channel 8 News, and many others.
Dr. Berg has taught more than 2,500 medical professionals in his practices, procedures, and research. He has been a major proponent of the health benefits of ketogenic diets and intermittent fasting.
Dr. Eric Berg's dedication to health permeates all aspects of his life, including his leisure activities. He says I have made it my hobby to investigate the root causes of disease. He overcame the negative impacts of being "the meat and potatoes kid" by working too hard and eating too much, which sparked his passion.
At 32, armed with his new nutrition knowledge, he felt revitalized and ready to take on the challenges of his wife Karen's hectic schedule and three active children.
Eric now values his spare time more than he ever has before. His handcrafted guitar and his collaboration with Karen in the kitchen, where they regularly put out tasty dishes with a focus on health, serve as both a source of creative energy and relaxation for him.
Dr. Berg has recently relocated to a picturesque farm, where he is performing extensive soil-related research to pursue a more nutrient-dense diet and livestock. Karen acknowledges that the origin of everything in the kitchen can be traced back to the ground.
