Undoubtedly, there has always been controversy around Scientology. People just start avoiding the subject of Scientology altogether whenever I meet down with my peers, friends, or other members of my circle and somehow we come around to talking about it (because "Dr. Eric Berg is a Scientology specialist" too).
I'm not sure why. However, a few days ago, I made the decision to research this subject on my own. I questioned a buddy of mine directly, "Why do you ignore this topic? ", as he attempted to steer the subject away from Scientology. Why not try avoiding it? You would be shocked at the response I received, too. I thought, "What the hell?" The largest misrepresentations of Scientology that I have ever come across.
I discovered then that there is more false information than there has ever been. People have been avoiding this subject because of this. When the subject of Scientology comes up, individuals attempt to divert the conversation. Simply put, people flee from it.
All of that is a result of widespread misconceptions about it. I propose that we temporarily set aside our memories of The Church of Scientology and well-known Scientologists like Michael Pena, John Travolta, Elisabeth Moss, Kirstie Alley, and so on.
I propose that, at least temporarily, we set aside the negative portrayal of Scientology in the media.
I'm Dr. Eric Berg, a devotee of Scientology, and I'm here to tell you what Scientology is really like.
It's a way of thinking. The creator of it is L. Ron Hubbard. It is believed that everyone of us is a spiritual entity that is eternal. We were called Thetans by Hubbard. According to him, everyone of us have the ability to be like God, making us the most powerful being in the universe. We do not, however, fully fulfill this potential. We have descended so far below this innate, divine strength that we are unaware of our own abilities.
We are traveling about this physical cosmos, locked in our bodies. And Scientology is the only path to realizing our divine abilities. Sounds a lot like Atma, Parmatma, Reincarnation, Salvation, and other concepts found in Hinduism.
Indeed, Scientology has a strong relationship with many other religions worldwide, including Buddhism, Hinduism, and more.
The main line is that we are all immortal, all-powerful creatures in actuality. But the version of ourselves that we currently see and experience as humans is only an earthly projection and manifestation. Furthermore, its form is essentially constrained. We are unable to escape these restrictions and shackles without the aid of Scientology.
