Dr. Calvin Hirsch

Dr. Calvin Hirsch is well-known across the University of California, Davis. Dr. Calvin Hirsch was the director of the Internal Medicine Geriatrics Clinic for 30 years and oversaw medical trainees in the outpatient General Medicine Clinic. Dr. Calvin Hirsch has educated generations of medical students through inpatient and lecture-based education. Several of Dr. Hirsch's trainees have gone on to significant academic careers in geriatrics.

Prior to attending college, Dr. Calvin Hirsch knew he wanted to be a doctor. He began his college career at Yale University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in 1976. He then enrolled in the UConn School of Medicine. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at San Francisco's Mt. Zion Hospital and Medical Center from 1980 to 1983. From 1983 to 1985, Dr. Calvin Hirsch served with the National Health Service Corps in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood.
