Maybe after reading these books, we will show that courage what Babasaheb Ambedkar asked us to show. We also believe that if India follows what Babasaheb Ambedkar wrote and said in his speeches, India would be in a much better position. Until caste, which is the main problem in India and the root of all the evils in India, is not uprooted, no progress in GDP would matter or as a matter of fact reach to the lowest rung of people in the society. We can not build a society without achieving social equality, as Dr Ambedkar said.

If you face any issue, let us know in the comments section and we will try to help you as soon as possible! We understand many friends want these books in Hindi so please help us spread these books, share with your friends! Spread the love of books. ?

In 1935, Ambedkar was appointed principal of the Government Law College, Bombay, a position he held for two years. He also served as the chairman of Governing body of Ramjas College, University of Delhi, after the death of its Founder Shri Rai Kedarnath.[48] Settling in Bombay (today called Mumbai), Ambedkar oversaw the construction of a house, and stocked his personal library with more than 50,000 books.[49] His wife Ramabai died after a long illness the same year. It had been her long-standing wish to go on a pilgrimage to Pandharpur, but Ambedkar had refused to let her go, telling her that he would create a new Pandharpur for her instead of Hinduism's Pandharpur which treated them as untouchables. At the Yeola Conversion Conference on 13 October in Nasik, Ambedkar announced his intention to convert to a different religion and exhorted his followers to leave Hinduism.[49] He would repeat his message at many public meetings across India.

On the anniversary of his birth and death, and on Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din (14 October) at Nagpur, at least half a million people gather to pay homage to him at his memorial in Mumbai.[105] Thousands of bookshops are set up, and books are sold. His message to his followers was "educate, agitate, organise!"[106]

In writing this book, Ambedkar drew from several fields of knowledge, in history, philosophy, law, economics, ethics and politics; and practices of justice, in the legislature, government, and in social and political movements and forums of which he was a part. Anyone who has spent even a minimum amount of time at Siddhartha College of Arts and Sciences in Mumbai, with his collection of books, is bound to be awestruck by the capaciousness of mind that he brought to his concerns.

These interests, though sustained over a lifetime, acquired coherence and shape in the unique historical conjuncture that was the 1940s, a crucial decade that witnessed world-historical changes. Unsurprisingly, his collection comprises at least in part carefully chosen texts published during this period; evidently he saw them as valuable for the many purposes that he desired to outline and fulfil. Before I get to the books, I would like to summarise briefly how Ambedkar engaged with the 1940s.

Many of the books in the Siddhartha College collection, especially those published in the 1940s are not explicitly or even remotely about India. But they clearly were carefully chosen, sometimes on account of their content, and possibly also on account of the intellectual and political credentials of the author. I list below some of these texts. I have chosen those that have been heavily marked, as well as those which bear a family resemblance to the latter.

AANA, an Ambedkarite organisation based in the United States, hopes that these books will serve as reference on Indian history, politics, religion, caste, and socio-economic issues for professors, scholars, researchers and students, it said in a statement.

One story is worth recalling. In 1917, Ambedkar returned to Bombay from London before heading to Baroda to try and fulfill his obligations to Maharaj Sayajirao who had given him a loan to study in Columbia University and LSE. Over four years in New York and London, Ambedkar collected books. According to biographer Dhananjay Keer, Ambedkar purchased over two thousand rare books in New York alone.

While Ambedkar reached Bombay via S.S. Kaiser-i-Hind, the other steamer containing his books and other luggage had been torpedoed by a German submarine and sunk. Upon his arrival, Ambedkar had little money to cover even the household expenses, forget paying for the rail fare to Baroda. At this juncture, the loss of his books proved oddly helpful. Since he had insured his books, Messrs Thomas Cook & Co. sent him the insurance money, and with this he tided over domestic expenses and managed the money to be able to reach Baroda. ff782bc1db
