Dr. Das earned his Ph.D. from IIEST Shibpur, India, under the supervision of Prof. Shyamaprosad Goswami. Following his doctoral research, he joined the group of Prof. Yasuhiro Shiraishi at Osaka University, Japan, as a postdoctoral fellow (Oct 2016 – Mar 2017). In the same year, he was awarded the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (May 2017 – Apr 2019) at the University of Siegen, Germany, where he worked with Prof. Dr. Heiko Ihmels on DNA binding, intercalator–receptor conjugates, light-up probes, and dual-mode chemosensors. Subsequently, in May 2019, he received the University of Bordeaux Initiative of Excellence (IdEx) Postdoctoral Fellowship to work with Dr. Nathan D. McClenaghan at CNRS/Université Bordeaux, France.

In 2021, Dr. Das joined the Department of Chemistry, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Bengaluru, India, as an Assistant Professor, where he is actively engaged in teaching and research. He currently supervises four Ph.D. scholars, two full time project students and graduate/postgraduate students, supported by external grants [SERB-SURE, DST, Government of India – ₹30 lakhs (PI); VGST, DST, Government of Karnataka – ₹20 lakhs (Co-PI)] and internal funding [₹10 lakhs, CHRIST University (PI)]. His research focuses on the design of molecular receptors and fluoroionophores for detecting biologically important analytes, reactive species, and biomolecules.

To date, Dr. Das has published 62 peer-reviewed papers in reputed international journals from publishers such as ACS, RSC, Wiley, Elsevier, and Taylor & Francis. According to Google Scholar, his work has received 2,421 citations, with an h-index of 29 and an i10-index of 42.
