Born and raised in Bangladesh, I have received education and training in many countries, including Bangladesh, the Netherlands, Belgium, Austria, and Australia. My experiences in these diverse contexts have provided me with a unique perspective on global issues and have helped me to develop a critical understanding of the interconnectedness of power, knowledge, and society.
Beyond my academic pursuits, I have also actively participated in community-based projects and initiatives. These experiences have shaped my moral compass and fueled my passion for social change. As a migrant academic, I have developed a deep empathy and compassion for forced migrants and marginalized communities. I am committed to using my research and skills to promote social justice and build a more inclusive society

I live with my daughter Naba Faatiha (PhD baby), son Arham Abdullah and my incredible wife (and co-author) Naima. I am thankful to my wonderful parents, siblings, collaborators and kind people around for their immense support, hence, I get through this journey!

Celebrating my first PhD publication at midnight with my daughter in front of the QUT's Digital Media Research Centre, where I had my PhD. There's nothing more fulfilling than having the first paper from my PhD accepted for publication in the prestigious journal, Media, Culture, & Society (February 11, 2022).
