John and Von have been married for 41 years and have been pastoring DUMC for over 33 of those years. Over the years they've spent the time raising two boys and taking in anyone who needed a helping hand. They are continually addressed as "Granny Honey and Papa John," by all the children apart of the church, and this is a prime example of the relationships they share with members of the church. They've poured their life into leading and serving the congregation, they truly do a wonderful job.

After a dark time in both lives; God brought them together and created beauty from ashes. They were married in 2002, creating a blended family with a house full of love and FIVE children. Today, people have seen their growth over the years; and with all of their children now grown, they spend their time basking in the joyful season of grandparenthood. Between his sermons and her singing-- the two welcome the holy spirit into the church and do a wonderful job leading along side Pastor John and Vonette.

After 20 years of marriage, Brice and Mary still have the same passions: a wholesome love for Christ and each other. They have three children who still live at home. Being a man of many hats, he can be found leading worship, planning youth events, and spending his Saturdays serving and working on the church. She, having a heart for children, organizes nursery and teaches a children's church class. These two are selfless and dependable. They are trustworthy to follow God's spirit for direction and love all children whole-heartedly.

Daniel, like many members of our congregation, found Jesus during a rough time in life. Daniel is a prime example of how miraculous and life-changing the love of God is. After 8 years clean, Daniel is helping people in every way he can. God truly knew what he was doing when he orchestrated Daniel's journey. He couldn't be more fitting for the job. Daniel and his wife Shanna have been married for 3 years, and have two beautiful children. We are so thankful to have him as deacon.

Jerry Bennett has been a faithful follower of Christ for decades. Serving in various roles in the church including Sunday school teacher for several years. Jerry and Pat Bennett have been married for 52 years and are life long members of DUMC. Jerry and his family are pillars of the church. Without them many of the ministries of the church would not be possible. We are so excited to see how God manifests his love through Jerry in his time serving as deacon.

Jimmy Jack Walker has been a faithful member of DUMC for seven years now. He has been living whole-heartedly for Jesus, and completely clean for nine years. Over the last nine years Jimmy has continually grown in Christ, and in the word. During this time Jimmy has had a fruitful preaching ministry at DUMC and in other churches. His role as deacon reflects his growth in Christ. The congregation of DUMC confidently counts on Jimmy's faithfulness to fill the needs, bridge the gaps, and love the people of Doyle while serving as deacon.
