Hello World!
I am Dahoon (you can call me John, as well). I am a prospective linguist, a first-year Ph.D. student of linguistics department at the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, I worked as a Junior Research Assistant at CUHK (Chinese University of Hong Kong) after receiving my Master's degree at Sogang University, South Korea.
My primary linguistic interests lie mostly in syntax, semantics, and their interfaces. The rational approach to natural languages and challenging their traditional dogmas through the lens of science is what I love from my field - always enlightening and challenging!
Other than the theory per se, I am also interested in working on understudied languages. I have had fieldwork experience in Eastern Tamang, a language spoken in Nepal and neighboring India.
Above all, I spend a good time in my daily life wondering about the general architecture of grammar and the philosophy behind language.
If you wish to contact me for whatever reason, kdh10705@gmail.com is open to everyone.
Peace and Love! Love is all you need!
