Privacy Policy — Downrange: Launch Tracker

This Privacy Policy applies to the Downrange: Launch Tracker app (the "Application") for mobile devices, created by Vanca Rafael Marian (the "Service Provider"). The Application is a space launch tracker. It shows upcoming and recent launches, countdowns, news, the ISS, events, and collectible mission cards.
1. What Stays on Your Device vs. What Is Sent Elsewhere
a) Stored locally on your device
The following is stored only on your device (for example via app preferences) and is not uploaded to a Service Provider game or account server for advertising or profiling:
Launch watchlist, bookmarks, and related flags
Collector-card progress (for example unlocked stamps / cards and daily claim state)
Theme, accent, and other UI settings needed for the Application to work
Alert preferences (for example 24h / 1h / 10-minute reminders, webcast, NET-slip, watchlist-only, quiet hours, followed pads and agencies)
Local purchase or subscription entitlement flags used to unlock Pro or other paid content you already bought (where applicable)
An optional remote cache URL you enter in Settings
Clearing the Application’s data or uninstalling it removes this local information.
b) Not collected by a Service Provider backend
The Application does not require you to create an account and does not send your name, email, watchlist, or card collection to a Service Provider-operated server in order to use the Application.
Technical data may still be processed by Google Play and other providers listed in Section 3 when you download the Application, use maps or images, or make purchases. Advertising partners apply only if ads are added later (see Section 2(b)).
2. Information Collection and Use
a) App features and local progress
The Application processes local data so you can:
Keep your watchlist, bookmarks, theme, and alert settings
Keep collector-card unlocks and related progress between sessions
Show launch times, news, ISS position estimates, and images
Restore purchased or subscribed content on the same device where Google Play confirms the purchase
We do not require your real name, phone number, or national ID to use the Application.
b) Advertising (not used at this time)
The Application does not currently display ads.
Ads (for example banners, interstitials, or rewarded ads via Google AdMob) may be added in a future update. If that happens, this Privacy Policy will be updated, and Google and its partners may then process advertising identifiers, device and app information, IP address and approximate location, ad interaction data, and diagnostic information used to serve ads and prevent fraud.
If ads are added, you will be able to limit ad personalization in your device settings. The Service Provider does not sell your personal data.
c) Payments, in-app purchases, and subscriptions (Google Play)
The Application may offer:
One-time in-app purchases (for example Pro or other unlocks)
Subscriptions (for example weekly, monthly, or yearly Pro)
Payment is processed by Google Play Billing. The Service Provider does not receive or store your full payment card details.
We (and/or Google Play) may process product ID / subscription ID, purchase token or order reference, status (active, expired, cancelled, refunded), and approximate time of the transaction, only to verify the purchase, unlock content, restore entitlements, prevent abuse, and keep subscription access while it is active.
Subscription auto-renewal, cancellation, and refunds are handled through Google Play (Google Play account → Payments & subscriptions), under Google’s terms.
d) Automatically collected technical information
The Application does not include a separate user-tracking / analytics product operated by the Service Provider for building marketing profiles.
Standard technical data may still be processed: Google Play / Play Services (install, update, integrity, billing); launch, news, image, and map hosts (IP address and basic request metadata); Google Fonts; and crash / platform diagnostics if enabled by the device or Play.
e) Device permissions and capabilities
The Application may use internet / network access, app storage, notifications (including after restart so scheduled alerts can be restored), vibration / wake lock, and Google Play Billing.
The Application does not need your camera, photo library, contacts, microphone, or precise GPS for core use. Map views use launch-pad coordinates from the launch data, not your live location.
3. Third-Party Services
Google Play / Google Play Billing; Google Play Services; Google Fonts; OpenStreetMap contributors (map tiles); Launch Library 2 / Spaceflight News API (The Space Devs), NASA APOD, CelesTrak, and related image or data hosts; Google AdMob / Google advertising products only if ads are added later.

The Service Provider does not sell your personal data to third parties for their advertising.
4. Data Retention and Your Control
Local progress and settings remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall. Purchase / subscription records are kept by Google Play according to Google’s policies; local unlock flags remain as needed to provide paid content. No ad-related data from the Application at this time.
You may clear app data or uninstall, manage notification permission in system settings, manage or cancel purchases through Google Play, and exercise GDPR rights (Section 6) by contacting the Service Provider.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service Provider does not knowingly collect data from or market to children under the age of 13. The Application is not directed at anyone under 13.
If you believe a child has provided data through the Application, contact the Service Provider so relevant data can be reviewed for deletion where applicable. You may also clear local app data or uninstall the Application.
6. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA/UK (or otherwise protected by similar laws), you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability (where applicable), objection to legitimate-interest processing, and withdrawal of consent.
Some purchase (and, if ads are added, advertising) data is controlled by Google.
To exercise rights with the Service Provider, email vanca.rafael.marian@gmail.com with the Application name (Downrange: Launch Tracker) and a clear description of your request. The Service Provider aims to respond within 30 days.
7. Security
Purchases use Google’s platform security. Local settings and collection progress are stored in standard app storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Do not share your Google account or purchase screenshots that contain personal order details unless needed for support.
8. International Transfers
Some providers (in particular Google, map/image hosts, and data sources listed in Section 3) may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where this occurs, we rely on the safeguards published by those providers (such as Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent measures).
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time (for example if ads, new purchase types, or new data sources are added). You are advised to review it periodically. Continued use of the Application after changes are posted will be deemed acceptance of the updated policy. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised when changes are made.
10. Your Consent
By using the Application, you consent to the processing of your information as described in this Privacy Policy, including as it may be amended from time to time, and to the processing of purchases/subscriptions through Google Play where you choose to use those features. If ads are added later, using the Application after that update will include consent to ads as described in the then-current policy.
