I have set the following configs to my driver but now seems that the pref "download.prompt_for_download": False" its not working and theres a popup to choose the path to save the file (which I dont want to happen)

I have a selenium-based script that is working perfectly on my local machine and on another cloud provider's service. Unfortunately, when I try it on PythonAnywhere everything works up until the moment where a file is downloaded. No error is output, the file is simply never downloaded to the intended directory. I've taken screenshots and confirmed the automation is occuring as expected. I've also configured various settings in an attempt to overcome these issues. My setup is as follows:

Download.prompt_for_download Not Working

When I turn download.prompt_for_download to True I can see previously downloaded files by this code, however I can't see the files when I look into the /tmp/test using standard terminal or File manager.

me too, a few months ago. for development (clojure, c++, php, js) pop is actually better, imo, since i'm working in the target env and things are generally smoother and simplerso yeah, it's got to be a webdriver/chromium issues at this point. i'm actually pretty close. i increased the window size using the :size option and made some mods to the code (some popup was appearing sometimes unexpectedly) and it works w/ chromium headless on pop (my local) just not ubuntu (prod). i will try to ask in the webdriver forum. i didn't figure out why ff works on pop and not ubuntu yet, but i'm hoping to fix this element not clickable and ideally keep in all in chromium @UE21H2HHD

i think it's finally working on my prod machine too. i was setting size wrong in the prod code. so i think that was the main thing, setting the :size of the headless chrome. the firefox issue i'm still looking into but it's not a big deal atm

In some Docker installations you can see random Selenium commands failing because of the timeout. This is mainly caused by low bridged networking (aka docker0) performance. To avoid this we recommend to set docker0 network Mac-address to the same value as eth0 has:

Say goodbye to the worry of losing your configurations and embrace a seamless experience with your networking equipment. Let's dive in and get started!

In the realm of Selenium automation testing, the ability to download files is essential for testing web applications that interact with downloadable resources. However, when using Selenium Grid, a popular tool for distributing tests across multiple browsers and operating systems, downloading files can become more complex. Selenium Grid provides a scalable and flexible framework for running tests in parallel across a network of machines, which allows for faster execution of tests but introduces additional challenges when working with file downloads. 006ab0faaa
