1) Install the host software first:

If your host machine is a Windows computer, you need to have this program installed first:

If your host machine is a Mac, you need to have this program installed first:

      • Visit https://mac.getutm.app/ and select “Download”

          • Don’t go past 5:37 in the video instructions!

2) Download the correct virtual machine:

There are now two different virtual machines you can choose from. One has only the evolutionary genetics software and one has only the landscape ecology/GIS/species distribution modeling software:

• Pre-configured virtual machine for evolutionary genetics (including population genetics)

• • If your host computer is a Windows machine, choose this download.

• • If your host computer is a Mac, choose this download.

• Pre-configured virtual machine for landscape ecology/GIS/species distribution modeling

• • If your host computer is a Windows machine, choose this download.

• • If your host computer is a Mac, choose this download.

3) Hook up the virtual machine to your host computer:
