I strongly depend on Whatsapp for business purposes, and I am finding it hard to believe that a company would launch a product which is clearly worse, when people have been complaining about it in this subreddit for months.

**EDIT** After reviewing the Homebrew cask package, it seems that the version returned by brew info --cask whatsapp has to be manually updated via a git pull request after a whatsapp update is released. The below method may not be correct just after a whatsapp update. The browser method above will always return the latest version however.

I just updated the new whatsapp macOS desktop client and I have to agree with others, it feels terrible. The UI, sizing of messages and overall look and feel are such a step back. Why did they do it?

I have an old 2012 iMac at home and the whatsapp app there shows me a notification that it will be discontinued and that I can use the web version. It is working so well, why would they discontinue? eh...

I could list a lot more issues but that is the things I could currently catch from the first 10 minutes I was exploring the app looking for features that DIDN'T EXIST that whatsapp desktop had and worked perfectly, while instantly deleting the app and reinstalling the old desktop app, that even with the issues THEY created with that dumpster fire of an app still is a far better product that whatsapp windows.

So even with the link issues I will keep using whatsapp desktop and might transition to web if the issues keep happening as im honestly getting really annoyed with them after messing a perfectly working app.

And even if im thoroughly dissapointed at the performance that the windows version currently provides, im hopeful that you can fix the issues as you already have a great example of how things should be done in the whatsapp desktop app, and that it will become a product worthy of being called an upgrade instead of the mess it currently is.

Ever since the Android 13 update, I haven't been able to use Whatsapp in any work or user profiles. It'll go through the install and setup process just fine, but once that's done, it will just crash. (Pasted the crash report at the end of the post)

Any ideas as to what might be causing it? Seems to be some sort of permissions issue with the "calling identity", but I've tried giving Whatsapp all the permissions in both the work profile and user profile cases with no success. Is there something I'm missing when setting up these profiles?

I've factory reset my phone (Pixel 4) in hopes of resolving the issue, but the crashes still persist. I have found that Whatsapp does work in the main profile... However, I'd rather keep it in a work or separate user profile. I'd appreciate any help or ideas if you have any! :)
