Whenever I try to add my yahoo account to k9 it gives me error saying incorrect username or password. I checked the username and password and they are correct. I am able to add account with the same credentials in bluemail app but for some reason I am unable to add my account to k9mail.

Unsure if this is a widespread issue or not, but I began to notice the last Yahoo mail update in the Google Play Store broke the app. I currently use Motorola Android phones with Android 11. Basically, what happens is that there is an indefinite mail syncing notification every time the app opens. I'm assuming this is also occupying RAM and draining my battery. The only consistent way to correct the issue seems to be forcing the app to stop. Usual copy/paste tech support rep workarounds like uninstalling and reinstalling after a device reset have not proven effective. I've sent multiple feedback messages to Yahoo, posted a negative review in the Google Play Store, and nothing has changed as of this post.

Not based on that error. That error indicates that Yahoo created a ContentProvider (com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.mail.provider.MailProvider) and screwed up their security. They should be using FLAG_GRANT_READ_URI_PERMISSION with their ACTION_VIEW Intent, to allow its otherwise-not-exported provider to provide you with the file contents.

My colleague passed me a screenshot the other day of his iPhone Yahoo Mail app. Our email was in there, alongside Uber and Amazon's. But while Uber and Amazon had their brand logos in the preview panel (left hand side), ours had the two first letters of our company name displayed with candles. It looked like an auto-generated image (and I've certainly not knowingly put anything there).

Nothing on the forums seems to relate to email favicons, only web ones. I could try putting something like in the header of my emails but I don't think that would work since it's intended for a website.

One more thing, I had inquired about this a few days ago and they did say they will pull a logo automatically for companies that are sending fully signed DMARC email. I am unsure where they go to obtain a logo...it may come from Facebook or LinkedIn.

Although the Android and iOS versions of the Yahoo! Mail app look similar, there is a key difference between them and that is the iOS version supports in both the head as well as the body of the email whereas the Android version only supports in the body.

Most of Yahoo Mail's controls are tucked neatly into a nifty navigation panel that slides out from the left. From this panel, you can create new or access existing mail folders, switch accounts, and edit app settings. If you have any of Yahoo's other apps installed on your device (like Messenger, Weather, or Sports), the panel also includes shortcuts that can take you to them.

In the newest version of Yahoo Mail, messages are displayed as grouped "conversations." Similar to Gmail's threaded messages, Yahoo's conversations save you from having to jump out of a message to search for replies.

Composing messages with Yahoo Mail is a much richer experience than in other mobile e-mail apps, thanks to all the formatting tools that it offers. It lets you bold, italicize, or underline text, and it lets you change the size and color of text as well. There's even a button that lets you add Yahoo emoji to your messages. These formatting options, while they may seem insignificant, actually help set Yahoo Mail apart from competitors like the Gmail and Outlook.com apps.

Overall, Yahoo Mail for Android is still a winner. It does everything you need it to, plus it offers some nice features like formatting, push notifications, and integrated Yahoo Messenger. If you have a Yahoo e-mail address and an Android device, then this app is a must.

I got a new Samsung Galaxy Z-Fold 4. I'm trying to sync my Yahoo contacts to the phone contact list, and not having any success. It seems that Yahoo contacts are not accessible by any means on the phone. I googled the issue only and followed many suggestions, but it seems the problem is in the core of Samsung android os. I had rest my phone to factory settings multiple times trying to narrow down the problem. Here is what I found :

4) Then I tried adding my Yahoo account with the Samsung Email app. Right after entering my pwd, it asked if I agree to let Email access "Profile" and "Yahoo Mail". It did not prompt for access to "Yahoo contacts". When I checked the sync status, it said, "Sync on for all items". When I click on Sync account, the only item available to sync was email. Contact was not listed to be available to sync.

6) When I go to the Contacts app, the only contacts available to list was from my default Gmail account, Samsung account, Phone, and SIM. My Yahoo account via Samsung Email and Gmail Personal (POP3/IMAP) was not listed.

The Yahoo account is added to the Outlook app. I can go into the Outlook app to see my emails. So, what was the request for access to Yahoo Contacts for? It looks like within the Outlook app, I can list my Yahoo contacts. But the system refuses to recognize Yahoo Contacts. I went to Android Settings > Accounts and backup > Manage accounts. And my Yahoo account in Outlook is not listed even though the account exists in the Outlook app.

Thank you Pugs1957! However, this is not a solution. I want to "Sync" not import. Like Google contacts and Outlook contacts, we can sync with the contact list on the phone. The huge difference is when you need to update your contact list from either the web browser or your phone contact list, the information is synced between the two. Import is one direction only. Any update on the phone does not reflect back to the mail server.

I'm not sure how the apps get access to the mail server's contact list, but the Outlook app is able to access Yahoo Contacts, but Samsung Email can not. At the same time, the Outlook app won't share the contact info with Android's Contacts app, but Samsung Email will. Very frustrating.

I am currently using the Xiaomi Redmi 1S device with Android 4.3 operating system.I log-in through yahoo in my mi browser and try to attach an image. The problem comes in attaching an image under the attachments option.

I can see the deleted emails on the lap top but not my phone! I know it is hard to believe but I have on occasion deleted an email I wanted to keep. I can not go to the delete folder and return it to the inbox because both my delete and spam folder are always empty when I view them on my phone!! I must of changed a setting sometime ago but I have no clue how or where to get it to work again! Any help you can give me will be very welcome ?

As is usual with these types of apps, Yahoo Mail Go lets you be logged-in into several accounts simultaneously and you can comfortably alternate. Also, you can link as many email accounts as you want, including Outlook and Gmail accounts.

I was also told Yahoo doesn't use POP3 server type anymore, which is how my Outlook email account had been setup previously. The other issue is that the password used for logging into Rogers Member Center (where email accounts are managed) won't work when setting up the Samsung Email App (that's your Yahoo password as well).

If you had used a password for Outlook previously generated (16 character password) in the Rogers Member Center, then this is the password you need to use when setting up the Samsung Email App. They stopped using this application. You can prove this from the Rogers Member Center by trying to Add Another and Generate another password - a message will come up saying it isn't used anymore. This is done in the Authorized Applications tab under Account Information.

For the Auto Delete from Inbox setting, I use 'When deleted from Inbox', instead of Never. This lets me automatically delete it from Outlook from my phone if it's just junk mail, when I have Outlook closed.

Thanks for reply, however, this issue is different. When setting up Samsung Email app on your phone, in the past, you never had to use the password app, as the password for Yahoo is the exact same password when logging into Rogers Members Center (RMC). Now it appears that if you do have a generated password for Outlook, you need to use that password (16 char.) instead of the RMC password. You also need to configure the Samsung Email App using 'Other' instead of 'Yahoo'. This way it allows you to configure it for POP3. ff782bc1db
