We recently stood up a service for DDoS/DoS protection and my company wants to prove our service will protect against a future attack. Aside from seeking out bot farms or other paid security companies to do this, are there any legit toolsets I can test this myself with? I have been looking into loic,xoic,hulk,goldeneye,rudeadyet, and masscan and right now I am leaning towards using masscan because of its ease of use and speed. If there are other known solutions for this which may be better and open source, please let me know.
