Note: If you are no longer an Xfinity Internet or Xfinity Voice customer, you can still use your comcast.net email address; however, you can't add any new email accounts. Learn more about managing your email account even if you've disconnected your service.

I have similar problem. I click the envelope and the spinning wheel spins and spins and the page times out. Mail cannot load. We have tried all of the trouble shoot ideas and nothing helps. This is only happening on our desktop computer that is a wired connection. Able to get mail on our phones. It has been a problem for months and it is very frustrating because I can only get mail on my phone. BTW the entire xfinity page takes forever to load. We have no problems on loading any other sites - just xfinity.

The Xfinity 2go app allows Comcast phone customers to make calls using their smart phones when those phones are connected to wi fi. If wi fi connection is normal, the calls are the same in terms of connection quality and even caller ID indicators as if one is calling from his/her home phone. This works well provided the particular wi fi network being used does not block voice calling. Of course prior to even attempting to make a call, one would have to be signed up for an internet plan on the ship and have their smart phone signed onto the network. From what I understand, cruise ships and airplane wi fi connections often do block voice calling. What seems to be at issue here is whether or not Oceania wi fi connections do or do not block. During my attempt to use the app on the Regatta, I apparently was blocked.

No problem... Glad to help! Are you on our cruise next month? Also, be careful when on the ship - the ships cell service takes over and nullifies this roaming program. You will pay Oceania "dearly" if making/taking calls while connected to the ships cellular tower. Hopefully there is a way to switch off the ship's cellular, but in either case, we have unlimited wi-fi for our cruise so I'll just use voice skype when onboard.

You might have better luck finding out which neighbor has the xfinity hotspot and see if they'd be interested in sharing internet access at your cabin. You could connect them with a point to point system and simple pitch in a bit on the neighbors bill.

Moved and got Xfinity internet with their router/modem combo. I've had this vacuum for over a year and never had issues with 3rd party modems but now it refuses to connect to the network with their equipment. I went into the modem and disabled 5GHz so its only broadcasting 2.4GHz and no dice. If I make a hotspot on my computer I can get the vacuum to connect immediately no problems. SO the issue is on the Xfinity equipment. Before I enter purgatory with Xfinity call que, does anyone know if we need to white list this or maybe give it a reservation/static? Stay fly people ;P

I started haviong the same issue about 10 days ago. I can get emails fine on my Android phone but not through my email. I can login to my account with no problem but as soon as I click on the email Icon on xfinity site, it will time out that took too long to connect. Please help.

As an aside, I have a laptop running Windows 10 but it is connected via wifi and it did not have the Xfinity email connectivity problem. Just my desktop which is connected to the modem via ethernet was timing out. Weird.

Comcast/Xfinity has blown up my POP3 connectivity every six months or so over the course of many years. Calls to tech support are hopeless. Always the same line about assuring port numbers & etc are correct, but no real help. It's always something that changes on their end. Usually, the problem 'heals' itself Most often, the problem shows up as some sort of SSL/TLS error, often with error code 0x800CCC1A (encryption type issue), killing both send and receive. This started for me sometime on 25 January 21.

More recently, they managed to get the outbound (SMTP) fixed, but it was coming up with 0x8004210A (timed out waiting for POP3 server) where the receive was now an issue, and would just time out. What is bizarre is that the credential and SSL/TLS process is supposed to be identical for send/receive connections.

I researched all over and came across a post about MTU and SSL. When I saw the wireshark seemed to have an incomplete transaction, I decided to go for it. That was after learning how to commect to pop3 with SSL. (openssl s_client -connect pop.gmail.com:995 -state -msg -debug

What's annoying is that it's easy enough to find the IP address of the Xfinity mail server, but they've configured it to ignore pings. If one could ping that server, it would be possible to sort out whether a basic connectivity problem is the issue (if you can't even reach the server due to some upstream router problem, there's no point in doing anything else on the computer end), or whether there is a configuration issue on the computer that needs to be addressed (e.g., port numbers or whatever). That would have been (and no doubt will be again in the future) a super helpful tool in sorting out these issues. Basic rule of troubleshooting -- divide and conquer. Is the problem 'over here' or 'over there' made impossible due to lack of a simple ping response.

Anon1532942, thank you so very much for posting the solution to reset the local area connection MTU value. I used Windows Powershell to view and then change the MTU value to 1500 from 1504, and amazingly, this solved my on-going problem! I am very grateful.

THE PROBLEM: On 1/25/2021, I stopped receiving emails on a Desktop PC with the Windows Professional 7 OS where I use Outlook 2016 for email management for two comcast.net email accounts. The last emails received were 5:07 PM CST and 5:57 PM CST on 1/25/21.

In addition, I could not access either email or voice online using Web browers on the Desktop PC. Using a Web browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge), I was able to log into the xFinity website and view my account billing and payments, but I could not access email or voice for either account. Web browsers gave a timeout error like this:

- Desktop PC: I updated Trend Micro Internet Security application on 2/10/21. I determined that this program was not the cause of the problem by turning it off and testing.

- Conducted numerous web searches on a variety of error messages. As examples, I searched for TLS timeout error, Outlook Error message 0x800CCC0E, and connect.xfinity.com.

I have recently moved from the Gulf Coast to the Atlantic Coast in Florida. The nearly new My Cloud Home I have worked great in the Tampa Bay area, but now my internet provider is different (xFinity/Comcast). I downloaded the cell phone app and it shows that the My Cloud Home is connected to the xFinity Router and working properly. However when I try to open the WD Discovery app on my laptop, it says that my Device if offline, and that it might be offline or rebooting. WD support is blaming it on xFinity and xFinity support is blaming it on WD.

At this point, I am unwilling to go through the hassle explained above for what is essentially a home backup device for me. After having researched the issue, I have found hundreds of complaints online regarding past (8-10 years) and current connection issues with the MyCloud products. I have decided to cut my losses and either find a way to connect the My Cloud home directly to my laptop without internet, or to just buy a cheaper external hard drive for local use. While I am not happy with Comcast, I recognize their security concerns. I am very disappointed in Western Digital at the moment.

Headaches like that are par for the course with ISPs, making it difficult to tell if you're getting a good deal on your home's internet connection. Still, Xfinity is available to more than one-third of the country, and it's the fastest option available for many in that footprint. It's worth understanding what you might get, especially if you feel the need for speed and fiber isn't an option for your area or address.

One detail you may have noticed in the plan tables is the discrepancy between the download and upload speeds. This is because Xfinity Internet relies almost solely on hybrid fiber-coaxial cable connections to service subscribers' homes. HFC offers speeds much faster than those typically offered by DSL, satellite and fixed wireless networks. Still, due to the asymmetrical nature of the connection, your download speeds will always be much higher than your upload speeds. That's the main reason cable falls short of the performance of fiber-to-the-home networks. ff782bc1db
