My brother has gone on to do the same thing. He has now been a music director since he was 20 at three different churches, the current being my last church in Georgia. I was both my dad and my brother at one point in adult life. My brother plays piano on the intro transition on my album. It's the first time I got to do something with him on my music, which is really cool.

James Blake in the last five years has just taken it over for me. The group Bon Iver, they did a lot for me. In 2011 I first heard their [self-titled] second album. Even though I can't really understand the words most of the time it just feels great. It's very calming. Obviously, Pharrell, like I said. And from there I listen to a bit of all of what's popular as well, but those are the ones that have really done it for me.

This new album is the first time in about four years where I was like, "Xavier, what do you want to do?" And being able to bring those styles and those sounds together, I could not be happier with this project. And it's me. And to put it together in a form that I think most would still consider R&B overall is a big accomplishment.

Omr's career began in Christian music under the moniker SPZRKT, before he moved into secular R&B and hip-hop. Through his first couple of projects and work with Seattle DJ and producer, Sango, the 27-year-old singer's heart-on-sleeve approach quickly created a buzz. His latest album, if You Feel, was high on my favorite albums list of 2020.

Getting more personal on this album, the singer-songwriter lets listeners in on his new marriage, expressing his devotion to his wife on tracks like Protect and in particular So Much More; a stand out, 90s nostalgia slow jam.

Omr started recording his latest album if You Feel in February of this year, on the heels of an early anniversary celebration with his wife. In recent years, the singer has solidified his own lane in R&B. His soft voice and old-school delivery paint him, as he calls it, as "the guy that respects women."

But on if You Feel, Omr's third album set for release at the end of this month, the singer journeys inward and sprinkles the album's versatile production with complex questions about his own self-worth. Coming to terms with himself required serious reckoning with both his faith and his past decisions.

The point is: Omr wants us to know he's more than just a respectful crooner. "There are these songs where I just talk to myself," he said. "I had to have those real moments. I think that's what makes this album feel a lot different from what I've done in the past. I think it will connect with people more than anything I've ever done."

This album's production is so fluid and very different than a lot of contemporary R&B right now. You and Sango have been collaborating forever, but it sounds like you two really hit the gas on this record.

Sango's not exactly a traditional producer. The album he's about to drop is all Brazilian funk. He's very much ahead of the curve, and he pushes, but a lot of people associate my sound with being his sound, and that's not true. I've stepped on the gas way more in moments like ["FIND ME"] to reinforce that.

One of the best Christian Hip Hop records out there, Reach Records signed Aha in 2017. That year he released three albums Trilliam 2, Boot Camp, and Trilliam 3, and was featured by the likes of Lecrae, KB, and Social Club Misfits.

After a series of life-altering incidents (read here), she switched her artist name to K.LA and is no longer making Christian rap. So far she has had two full-length albums under that name. She is currently still coming out with music. Follow Kayla Starks on Instagram here.

Xavier Omar will usually go on a tour to promote a recent album release. Other tours will likely occur when Xavier Omar gets together with other notable artists. These tours can be limited to certain regions such as Europe or North America. Around 25-50 Xavier Omar tour dates will be set for the tour that can be as short as a few months or extend across multiple years.

Sango is a Seattle based producer who is most known for his remixes of Aaliyah, Drake, Little Dragon, Nas, The Weeknd, his debut album 'North,' his Baile Funk EP series "Da Rocinha" and most recently his full length album In The Comfort Of. He's produced music for some of the biggest acts around including, Bryson Tiller, Tinashe, Mick Jenkins, GoldLink, Wale, Smino, Xavier Omar and more.

The production features the likes of J-Louis, Hit-Boy, IAMNOBODI, and Thelonious Martin makes for a baseline cohesive but ultimately highly differentiated sound from track to track. This makes the short album an enjoyable listen because of the diversity of melody, but you also feel like the collection was curated with a point in mind as the underlying tones of the tracks are similar and the meanings of them follow a similar line as well. e24fc04721
