Hello, We were recently onboarded using a HubSpot 3rd party that created our html signatures for our users within the platform. However, the twitter social link is still using the old image and "X" is not appearing. How can this be updated? Also, we have a custom link/image for requesting proposals to include and not sure if the CTA space is the correct area for this as it is not appearing on the preview screen after adding.

Hey @SMcGoldrick you'll need to upload the new x logo you wish to display somewhere that is publicly viewable, then update the twitter logo url in your signature to the url of the new log you've uploaded.

I'm not aware of Squarespace being particularly quick in the past with a logo change for a social icon, I'm assuming for now it will remain as the bird, which may be a good thing... depending on your view of the rebrand from something recognisable to something generic.

This is an upgrade my clients are starting to ask for. I could revert the social media icons set to my own custom images and add them to the footer but it would be great if squarespace simply updated their icon set.

Is there any news on when can we expect the new branding of Twitter to X to filter to our sites? Specifically for the icons to be amended. And in future, would we need to manually update the links? I believe the new branding guidelines is now publicly available.

Anyway to update font awesome to the latest which includes the newest icon for Twitter (aka X)? I know one can upload custom font libraries, but I'd rather not incur the speed cost of loading 2 font awesome libraries.

I can definitely help you with this! While this will most likely be updated in newer versions of your theme file, you can go ahead and make this change now to stay on top of it. Fontawesome does have a version of the new logo available, and you can find that here: X Twitter Icon | Font Awesome. Set the color to your preferred color to match the rest of your icons and then grab the SVG code for it.

Lastly, I think it would be very helpful to allow a custom image to be uploaded and used for a social icon, that way users can link to any platform they'd like instead of there needing to add every platform as a selected choice.

We're updating the status of this idea to more accurately reflect its current status with our engineering team, and have also made slight changes to the subject line in order for it to be more easily found. We can't guarantee a commitment to deliver on this feature request, but it should indicate some awareness that we have heard your feedback. The engineers are continuing to monitor X (formerly known as Twitter)'s continued development on its rebrand, and will take updates to existing social icons under consideration for a future releases.

Yes--please provide an updated icon for X as soon as possible. As others have stated, continued use of the Twitter icon makes our emails look dated and thus makes us (the senders) look clueless. Opinions about the rebrand are beside the point; accuracy is the goal. Thank you for doing what you can to escalate this in priority.

So right now I am trying to style a twitter feed that will display on a website. I am using TweeCool to do this ( ). Basically, I am trying to figure out how I can swap the profile thumbnail image, with a custom twitter icon. So basically what I want, is for each tweet to display back with a twitter font icon on the left side of it. With the code below I can get the first tweet displayed as I want but it does not go through the JS loop to style the others. I am fairly new to JS and Jquery, so was wondering what I could do to make it so that each tweet would prepend the twitter icon to the left of the text such as the first one in the example. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i am trying to incorporate the twitter new icon X in navbar, when i insert old icon, it appears, but when i incorporate new X icon, code runs but there is no output. code and output snippet is attahed.

In the last changelog, (I installed the last Salient's version 16.0.5) I saw that you guys added X (Twitter) social media theme options, but when I use the icon element with font-awesome (and others), it doesn't have the icon x-twitter. However, the icon is present in the font awesome cheatsheet.

After updating my Twitter app, the icon has disappeared although it still shows as being installed in the App Store. When I click on open in the App Store nothing happens. Can't uninstall. Tried rebooting several times. Can anyone help?

Twitter Blue subscribers can also change the appearance of the Twitter application icon on their device. While the normal Twitter app icon is blue, Twitter Blue subscribers can choose from different colors, as well as seasonal app icons.

We are having the same problem. We created the Twitter-X as an icon with Fontello and uploaded it to Enfold. Now it can be used everywhere, but not in the social media bar in the header. How can the Twitter icon for the social media profiles be replaced?

The icon on the mobile app changed to an "X" late Friday night in the latest phase of a sweeping rebrand the platform's owner Elon Musk announced earlier this month. The company previously introduced the logo on the web and launched the domain X.com, though Twitter.com also remains live.

Musk, who acquired the platform for $44 billion late last year, wrote in a post Sunday that the company would soon "bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds." The transition from Twitter to X reflects Musk's vision to turn the platform into what he has called an "everything app."

X, formerly and commonly referred to as Twitter, is a social media website based in the United States. With over 500 million users, it is one of the world's largest social networks. Users can share and post text messages, images, and videos known historically as "tweets".[4] X also includes direct messaging, video and audio calling, bookmarks, lists and communities, and Spaces, a social audio feature. Users can vote on context added by approved users using the Community Notes feature. Although the service is now called X, the primary URL remains twitter.com as of December 2023[update], with the x.com domain name redirecting to that address.

The tipping point for Twitter's popularity was the 2007 South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi) conference. During the event, Twitter usage increased from 20,000 tweets per day to 60,000.[52] "The Twitter people cleverly placed two 60-inch plasma screens in the conference hallways, exclusively streaming Twitter messages," remarked Newsweek's Steven Levy. "Hundreds of conference-goers kept tabs on each other via constant twitters. Panelists and speakers mentioned the service, and the bloggers in attendance touted it."[53] Reaction at the conference was highly positive.[54] Twitter staff received the festival's Web Award prize with the remark "we'd like to thank you in 140 characters or less. And we just did!"[55]

From September through October 2010, the company began rolling out "New Twitter", an entirely revamped edition of twitter.com. Changes included the ability to see pictures and videos without leaving Twitter itself by clicking on individual tweets which contain links to images and clips from a variety of supported websites, including YouTube and Flickr, and a complete overhaul of the interface, which shifted links such as '@mentions' and 'Retweets' above the Twitter stream, while 'Messages' and 'Log Out' became accessible via a black bar at the very top of twitter.com. As of November 1, 2010[update], the company confirmed that the "New Twitter experience" had been rolled out to all users. In 2019, Twitter was announced to be the 10th most downloaded mobile app of the decade, from 2010 to 2019.[72]

Later that day, Musk confirmed the rebrand, which started when the x.com domain (formerly associated with PayPal) began redirecting to Twitter;[162] the logo was changed from the bird to the X the next day,[163] and the platform's official main and associated accounts also began using the letter X within their handles.[164] The @x handle was originally owned by photographer Gene X Hwang, who registered it in 2007. Hwang had expressed willingness to sell the handle, but received an email on July 25, 2023, stating that the company was taking it. He was offered some X merchandise and a meeting with the company's leaders, but no financial benefits.[165] The Android app's name and icon were changed to X on Google Play by July 27; the same change went live on the App Store on July 31 after Apple granted an exception to its minimum character length of 2.[166][167][168] Around that time, some more elements of the Twitter branding were removed from the web version, including tweets being renamed to "posts".[169]

On July 22, 2023, Elon Musk announced that the service would be re-branded to "X",[300] in his pursuit of creating an "everything app".[299] Musk's X profile picture, along with the official X accounts, and the icons when browsing/signing up for the platform, were updated to reflect the new logo.[301] The logo (?) is a Unicode mathematical alphanumeric symbol for the letter "X" styled in double-strike bold. ff782bc1db
