Ok just to be 100% sure on the burning thing.. I fired up a copy of basic, and oh btw yes home basic is not even available in the US, etc. But through work, msdn, technet, licsensing.microsoft, etc. I have access to pretty much anything MS produces.. And anyone can install any version of w7 anyway from the same media, just delete the ei.cfg file and you will get asked what version to install.

edit: as to the buy a codec to play movies?? Yeah OK :rolleyes: VLC = FREE, KMPlayer = FREE, 15 other FREE players out there ;) While true basic does not come with the codec.. You sure an the hell don't need to buy anything.. there -- took me all of the time to read that other post and click edit on mine to get vlc downloaded and installed and playing DVD movie, what 5 minutes? ;)

So it won't compete to play with anything-- plus--if you wanted to use it to play a dvd- insert dvd then close the prompt (what is the default player for windows) start VLC than tell it to play the dvd.

Windows 7 is the most usefull of current operating systems. Its a shame it must be ordered online and is not available in most major retail stores. Windows 7 pro and ultimate offer remote assistance and more network features if your an IT tech. I agree that an operating system should only cost $40 home add $10 for pro and $20 for ultimate. They would sell more computers and virtually end illigal copies. Its sad that you can buy a computer (3 gig dual core with 4 gig ram and 500 gig HD for $150 with Windows 7 Pro installed when it cost about that much for Windows 7 Pro alone.

Hello, i have a question. I am running windows 10 enterprise, 64bit on my thinkpad t480. It has 32GB of ram and 500GB SSD. It is very slow when trying to do tasks and it never uses more than 15% of the memory. Is there a way to use more ram for tasks/programs? Thanks

open run command by pressing windows key+R at the same time then type in msconfig go to boot options from the top tab then look for advanced click on it you will see the number of cores of your processor and amount of ram your computer is using maximize the memory and then restart you will feel the effects you can also check it in my this pc properties
