The lack of cursor limits the utility of the advanced features of signal. Sending messages is easy enough, but there's no way to select options for calling, video, or even selecting a new chat. You will only be able to interact directly with chats and groups that are already open. For this reason I recommend syncing with a PC, and using your phone as a secondary device for texting only. You can access the settings by clicking the left hand button at the top, and scrolling through to link as you normally would. Hopefully I'll discover a useful cursor that will make this even more useful, but for regular chats it works fine with these caveats.

This is a great little phone, compact, ergonomic, and with enough extra features to make it a great minimalist device. Despite its issues I think it will replace my Opel SmartFlip as a daily driver. That said, the Opel is still the best device for ease of use, though this is yet another option for Australians who want a few extras but don't want to bother importing the many alternatives available overseas. It's a great WhatsApp device for those who don't want the limitations of KaiOS.

we are having some battles internally, as I don't think WhatsApp has any place on a company device, the t&c's say not for business use.it fails at GDPR is a massive black hole for data exfiltration, and has no central management/control?

I hate whatsapp. But this is one of those situations where the users may need it to be more effective. The vast majority of your customers probably use whatsapp all the time and its just their preference to use it. As there is no real reason to stop them you should probably bend to let them use it to make them happy and more effective. You just need to make sure you have defined policies for what data is to your company and whether or not it should be allowed to be sent over whatsapp. But if its just general conversation between your sales guys and customers you should just let them have it.

Theres nothing different about whatsapp vs imessage or even just regular old SMS app of choice when it comes to regulations like GDPR. None of them are supported. GDPR is geared more towards what information you store as a company than conversation style data like this.

On the other side, I see agencies using WhatsApp for speeding and simplifying work processes. Don't know if they use it on private devices or on business devices. If on private devices, I don't know if WhatsApp provides a feature to forward to regular email account?

As you mentioned in your post, I'd refer those colleagues and their customers to email. If your colleagues want to continue using it for their customer input, I'd restrict this to their private devices and ask them to forward that input to regular email if such a feature exists.

First you need to define what the devices are used for, personal or not. And then define communication policies. I see a lot of comments above talking about tracking and auditing and stuff, but this should not be related to whatsapp. Whatsapp is a text\messenger app and should be used as such. Communications that take place here must be treated as if they are "in-person voice communication". You do not go around recording a staff member when they are talking in person to a customer. You do when on the phone or email. Policies should reflect this. Luckily you do get some tracking from whatsapp, but you should not expect it and policy should not expect it. Meaning staff should utilize other channels when they need to make agreements or something that will need to be tracked.

If there is any texting allowed there is no reason not to allow whatsapp. (unless you want to policy restrict it). But make sure you are restricting it for a reason other than just disliking its use. Otherwise you are breeding contempt among the users for no reason.

We have our Corporate apps that are required and installed in the corporate container (which is encrypted) but users can pretty much install whatever they want on the personal side. But obviously no Root Kit / Jail breaking is allowed at all or the device gets wiped immediately.

Anyways, I would think cell service would be the safer option, because if you're connecting wifi only, someone's going to tether using their main device or they will use company wifi. Either way, you're creating a path to your network or company data.

Older devices frequently quit supporting WhatsApp, and the newer ones are released. In fact, as of December 31, the messaging app would no longer work on more than 49 devices. This article contains the complete list.

This is extraordinary. Most of my communicants use Whatsapp. I haven't asked them if they use ipad, but I think some/lots of them use iphone. Does iphone support whatsapp? Certainly my android tablet has whatsapp. Being peremptorily told by apple forums to 'google whatsapp' diminishes my confidence in ios. This is the first ios device I've had. I'm getting the vibe that I'm too stupid to use ipad.

My android tablet doesn't have SMS but it has a Whatsapp app. I prefer an app, because using a browser seems to cause probs when I switch back & forth between devices, but hey-ho, I guess there's company politics involved between Apple and Meta.

Most people are already familiar with WhatsApp Web from their private use. Using , users can chat with their contacts on any device directly in the browser. Similarly, you can also use multiple devices with the WhatsApp Business app. For example, you can install Whatsapp Business on your desktop instead of using the web browser.

WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Desktop are even more convenient since the release of the multi-device feature: Linked devices are no longer dependent on a smartphone. This means the phone doesn't have to be connected to the Internet for you to use WhatsApp on your paired devices. However, you can only link up to four additional devices and smartphones and tablets are not (yet) supported.

WhatsApp Web or Desktop are ideal for entrepreneurs who want to switch flexibly between a smartphone and laptop or PC, for example, to reply to messages more quickly with a keyboard. WhatsApp Web or Desktop is also a good choice for small companies that have a small service team to manage their WhatsApp channel. Each employee receives a linked device to access the company's WhatsApp account.

This solution is suitable for all companies that want to use WhatsApp with professional service features for sales and service. Medium-sized and large companies especially benefit from a solution like Userlike, which lets you connect different tools to WhatsApp (e.g. CRMs, team chats, etc.) and assign different roles and rights to employees.

With Userlike, using the WhatsApp Business API is compliant with the GDPR. As a German WhatsApp business solution partner, our software meets all the requirements so that you can use WhatsApp securely on multiple devices:

Background:  The global use of mobile devices with their connectivity capacity, and integrated with the affordances of social media networks, provides a resource-rich platform for innovative student-directed learning experiences.

Results:  Seven themes were identified that included: positive experiences using the WhatsApp group; the usefulness of WhatsApp for integrating theory and clinical practice; the availability of resources for test preparation; opportunity for clarification; anonymity; exclusion of students as a result of the lack of an appropriate device, and the application caused the battery of the device to run flat quickly.

Decide with your child if it is appropriate for them to share their location with others and who they are allowed to share it with. You can disable location permissions by going into your device settings and switching off location services for WhatsApp.

I tried validating my phonenumber via the /contacts endpoint, but it keeps returning an auth error. Updating my token to include all Whatsapp permissions did not change this, whatsapp_business_api_data isn't an option to include.

Next I created a new app and added the Whatsapp integration, I added and validated my phonenumber via a text and tried to send a test messsage. This also doesn't start a conversation nor does it give me any feedback. If I try to add my phonenumber again, by adding it as another number, I cant and get the error Reason: VERIFIED

I got the same issue, resolved it by sending the message multiple times through the api in watsapp setup, getting started page. Also accepted the number in personal watsapp by allowing it to continue. 006ab0faaa
