Following on from previous question, this is not the same as watermarking. Watermarking means that after a period, late-arriving data is dropped and thus the effect described above has a time consideration to contend with. That is to say, some older windows will not be updated.

I have 2 questions that are written below, but first here is some context for you. I have 4k footage shot on a Z-cam that I linked and transcoded in AVID through Media Reactor, but linking it left a watermark on all of the footage as it's a free demo of Media Reactor. I want to edit the 4k footage in 1080 and then relink back to the 4k footage for final delivery. Media Reactor has a "lite" version for $99 that I can download to get rid of the watermark (hopefully), but I can't confirm that the lite version will actually remove the watermark and successfully link the Z-cam footage. Thus I'm leaning towards importing the 4k footage.

Have you tried linking not using the media reactor plugin? Just the basic link function? Doesn't Z-Cam just record H264 or Prores? I'd be pretty pissed off if I paid money for something and it didn't remove a watermark so I'd be very surprised if it didn't but why not send Drastic an email? - support@drastic.tv

I'm confused. Either you are bringing in source files that require MediaReactor, or you are working with footage that Avid can handle without any plugins. If the latter, why use MediaReactor at all? If the former, how would a 4K import bypass the need for the plugin?

I am working on a album layout and have selected one of the stock papers as a background image. However, then I removed it/deleted it, and replaced with my own image. Then, when previewing this album page in the output tab my spread is watermarked with "Purchase Lumapix content to remove watermark". This may sound like a stupid answer -but did you purchase lumapix fotofusion. The comment from the software about "you must purchase lumapix to remove watermark" seems to state that you havent purchased lumapix. If you are using it in the 30 day test window I think that you get the watermark. The background paper or image has nothing to do with the watermark.

This may sound like a strange question but did you purchase Fotofusion or are you trying the 30 day test. The message you are getting re "must purchase fotofusion to remove watermarks" shows up when you haven't purchased the product and also I believe shows up during the 30 day trial. To answer your question re background image - right click on the image and if you want it to be the background image click "set as background". If you want to delete it - right click on the background image and then click delete. To delete any image/photo just right click on it and select "delete".

Good example is Autodesk's students versions, where i.e. AutoCAD drawing has the message that the file was created in student's version around the printed drawing.
