There are a couple of issues here. What's frustrating is that though these issues seem to have been discussed by platform users for some time, Squarespace has not made any changes reflexive to the needs of its user base. Both of my primary issues of concern relate to the managing and downloading of assets within my website's asset library. And, my third issue relates to the lack of portability of uploaded assets from one site to another as a workaround to theme changes not allowed within version 7.1.

Issue/Pain Point #1: I would like to export/download my entire asset library for a given site to my computer, but currently there is no way to do this, except individually right-clicking on images, after they've been opened.

Issue/Pain Point #3: I am redesigning my company's existing Squarespace website, but because it runs on version 7.1, there is no way for me to change the theme. I would like to duplicate the asset library from the existing site, to the new site running a new template.

When adding an image or video to your site, choose Select from library or Search Images. This opens the My Library tab which shows images and videos you've uploaded to your site, and any free and licensed stock images you've used. You can also select new stock images from the other tabs in this window.

You can now reuse your imported images when you're logged into your site on a computer. You can also directly upload images from the app to an image block on the computer. It's not possible to upload videos to the Asset library using the Squarespace app.

After we remove an asset from your site, a broken file icon or a blank space may appear where the image or video used to appear. To remove the icon or blank space, follow the same procedure you normally would to delete content from your site.

7.0 and 7.1 The easiet thing to do is create a blank page in the unlinked section of your site. It doesn't have to be enabled. Create an image block on that page and then click add an image, select from library. At that point you can select any image by checking the small white box up in the left corner. Delete or add (that puts the image in the image block) can be chosen. Its a bit primitive but images can now be deleted out of your library.

I wanted to share a quick update that you can now select/delete/upload multiple images at the same time from your site's library. I understand the inability to do this was a pain-point so I hope this improvement helps out.

Just ceate a blank page in the unlinked section of your site and add an image block to it, then you have complete access to your image library. You can add an image or delete any of them from there. It's not as simple as one button access inside the config menu but once there you do have control over it.

I already lined out what a Digital Asset Manager (DAM) does and in this blog post I briefly outline if Wix, Squarespace and Ghost work with a digital asset manager ro manage media files in a media library.

From there, you can upload and manage your images, videos, audio files, and other media assets. You can also create folders to organize your assets and use tags to label and categorize them. The Digital Asset Manager also allows you to edit your media files, add alt text for SEO purposes, and access your assets from any device with an internet connection.

Additionally, Squarespace's DAM integrates with the rest of the platform, so you can easily use your media assets in your website's design and content.

Do not use this plugin for migrating images from the Squarespace export file (XML) What happens is it copies everything to WordPress in multiple copies of the same images. Understandable because Squarespace has no media library and images are uploaded as per instance needed, (gallery, page, product, post etc.) however if you delete any of the excessive copies the single image left will not be viewable and will show only as a blank.

The first step in adding Lottie to your Squarespace website is to find a premium animation. We recommend Creattie because they have an extensive library of industry-specific designs. In addition, you can customize colors, animation speed, triggers, and size directly from the library interface.

Once you are at Creattie.com, click the type of animation you would like to use. You can choose from Lottie illustrations or icons. (The design library also has vector designs available in GIF, MP4, SVG, and PNG formats.)

Now that you understand the value of the new technology and how to use Lottie in Squarespace, you are ready to improve your designs. Check out Creattie to see the extent of the design asset library, and if you are looking for more tutorials, visit our blog.

That first gallery photo actually shows up in google searches for that product, and if I download it from google the image is full size and has all my original metadata! I have no idea what is going on there! That photo isn't even in my item library anymore. 2351a5e196
