Since you cannot for sure know what version of telegram those other persons are using and it could be a version made by for example the Russian, Iranian or Chinese government eavesdropping on the conversation. Both Iran and Russia have blacklisted the official telegram app and instead made their own that can be used.

Can any one please tell me how I can login my account on monogram, plus, or any other telegram based apps, telegram doesn't send me the code neither on my existing telegram account nor on my phone number, the annoying thing is it sends me the code in seconds when I try to login on the official telegram app on another phone but not when I try the unofficial apps.

I was wondering that can developers of an unofficial Telegram apps gain access to media and files that users send over the app? (Unofficial Telegrams use the Telegram API and connect to Telegram servers).
