Hi, I am an incoming student at VT this fall, and I have never travelled to Blacksburg before. How's the availability on Ubers and lyfts specially late hours like 11-12 pm? How's it during normal working hours? Thanks

This is incredible, thanks for sharing. I just dealt with calling an uber during disembarkation in Los Angeles and believe me, it was a literal nightmare that involved me standing in the middle of the traffic jam, frantically waving my arms until the driver could find me, haha.

You can walk to uber lyft area (4-7 minutes) to meet your vehicle or take a shuttle. The lines you see in my pictures are the people with porters and the people without porters waiting for cabs to get into. Traffic was horrible getting out of the pier with 7000+ leaving and people showing up to get on next cruise.

I was also wondering if I could bother you for another question. Do you know if there were any shuttle dropoffs to downtown - preferably to Pike Place? Since I have lots of time before my red-eye flight back home was going to do some more exploring and while I could take a lyft (though I'll definitely be out there by 8:30AM thank you for that helpful tidbit!) figured a shuttle without a tour might also be easy.

MSP Airport requires all Lyft, uberX, uberXL, and UberSELECT partners to obtain a permit and display a vehicle decal to complete rider pickups. Failure to display your permit will result in a $100 fine.

I don't think Lyft is available, and Uber has spotty coverage in Barcelona due to ongoing legal troubles with the city government. The best app to use is Freenow, which is like uber but allows you to tap into the taxi network to digitally hail a ride, you can also schedule a taxi for later.

All that said, how reliable is uber and lyft now that uber is able to drop off and pick up at cruise terminal in Galveston? We are staying 20 min away in Texas City if that makes any difference. I am tempted to drop them for pick up services. They do not communicate very well.

I heard the problems are more with local travel from nearby hotels near the port. Lyft/Uber drivers were cancelling rides because they didn't want the short fares. Houston to Galveston is an easy decision for a uber/lyft driver LOL. Maybe Texas City to the port is an easy decision too. ff782bc1db
