i paid for the subscription which states my tablet would be protected only to find after payment i get a follow up email stating that android devices are not covered and i need to pay extra for it i requested a refund immediately. i am totally grossed out by this company and i should have trusted the reviews they are not transparents and lie to customers. i will probably have to wait months for a refund or report it as fraud on my account to get my money back

i started getting geosmartdns adware to appear as soon as i bought totalav and it would not detect the malware as I assume they are in some sort of partnership. had to download other antivirus/malware products (Malwarebytes did the trick) in order to remove the ads. would not recommend. totalav content did also pop up on malwarebytes items that needed to be quarantined

On a Mac do I use both Bitdefener total security and Mac antivirus or just one. If it is just one should it be Mac Antivirus? Have antivirus expriring soon. The BD total security subscription still has 10 + months to go. Suggestions? Thank you!

My MacBook air was operating slower than usual yesterday so I went online to find a trustworthy virus protection. After reading all of the highly rated "reviews" on so-called official review websites I downloaded totalAV protection and then got sucked into "upgrading" it for $29.00. With one day I was dealing with multiple problems/virus issues which I have not ever had on this computer in 3 years. It was a nightmare to uninstall as well. Stupid me. I hope this post helps others to avoid the same mistake.

I've had this problem for more than a month.

I start with McAfee Total Protection installed on my FOUR computers and they show up in My Account > My Apps.

At least a dozen times (total for FOUR computers), something has uninstalled my McAfee Total Protection and it's been replaced by 1.9.253.1 and there's NO indication of ANY computers in My Account > My Apps.

The only thing I've found googling 1.9.253.1 is this garbage. It says it's specifically for version 1.9.253.1 ... -97c747a93ce1c266b8ea2a3591e064aa-application.htm

Thinking back, it might have started when I downloaded PC Optimizer.

Again, this has happened on my FOUR computers. I've had to uninstall 1.9.253.1 and re-install McAfee Total Protection more than a dozen times. One of my computers just came out of the box and McAfee Total Protection (and PC optimizer) was installed 2 days before it happened.

I can only assume that my virus protection, designed to keep viruses out, lets a virus in that changes my virus protection.

Update ... It continues to happen every few days. Now it's being replaced by 1.10.231.1 and there's NO indication of ANY computers in My Account > My Apps.

I noticed that comparing directories in Total Commander (go to Commands > Synchronize Dirs ..., select the "by content" checkbox, and press the "Compare" button) is slow, because the antivirus uses most of the CPU to scan the files being compared:

If I configure Microsoft Defender to not monitor Total Commander process i.e. if I set:Windows Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection > Manage settings > Add or remove exclusions > Add an exclusion > Process to: C:\Program Files\totalcmd\TOTALCMD64.EXE, then the directory comparison is much faster:
