I'm attempting to take large (huge) images (from a digital camera), and convert them into something that I can display on the web. This seems straightforward, and probably should be. However, when I attempt to use PIL to create thumbnail versions, if my source image is taller than it is wide, the resulting image is rotated 90 degrees, such that the top of the source image is on the left of the resulting image. If the source image is wider than it is tall, the resulting image is the correct (original) orientation. Could it have to do with the 2-tuple I send in as the size? I'm using thumbnail, because it appears it was meant to preserve the aspect ratio. Or am I just being completely blind, and doing something dumb? The size tuple is 1000,1000 because I want the longest side to be shrunk to 1000 pixels, while keeping AR preserved.

phatch is a batch photo editor written in Python which can handle/preserve EXIF metadata. Does anybody have a Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop Template for correctly sizing the listing images because for some reason when I uses the required Image Specs 2000 Wide, Square 1:1 or 4:5 crop my thumbnail gets cropped on the top and bottom for every photo I upload on Etsy Listings.

I'm new but have a lot of photoshop experience. Still not getting consistency between listings of exact same size. Do shop owners that upgrade from the Basic (free) version have the same problems. Cause it may be worth it. I do vertical paintings so the square or horizontal ratio leaves a lot of white space. Looks bad on first shot (that audience sees--major cropping. Also what's with the different pixel size for thumbnails. I try to adjust thumbnails as instructed but can't get them small enough from the 2000x2000 that the primary pic requires? confused.

I have a wired doorbell and the thumbnail on the dashboard updates automatically with no problem on my Android phone (S20) but it does not automatically update on my ipad.

I had the same issue with one of my floodlight cams, as the thumbnail on dashboard stopped updating. To fix the issue, I had to delete all of the stored videos under event history for that device. Once I deleted the videos, it started updating again right away.

From my experience, wired devices will update almost immediately upon opening the app. Battery devices refresh their thumbnail every 10 minutes. Often clearing the Ring app totally out of Recent Apps on your Android or Apple device will resolve some of these issues too.
