The need for marine weather information via telephone recordings has decreased in recent years. As a result, some NWS offices have stopped providing this service. Some of the numbers on the list below may not be in service anymore. If you find a number listed below no longer in service, check this listing of telephone numbers for recorded forecasts from NWS offices. If you still can't find an accurate number, go to and click on an area of interest. The main page of the NWS office responsible for weather information in that area will pop up. Scroll to the bottom and there will be a phone number listed. There may be an option for recorded weather information using that number.

The National Data Buoy Center offers a Dial-A-Buoy service. Mariners can hear the latest coastal and offshore weather observations using Dial-A-Buoy. Dial-A-Buoy also can read the latest NWS marine forecast, by zone, for most station locations. Dial-A-Buoy provides wind and wave measurements taken within the last hour at 65 buoy and 54 Coastal-Marine Automated Network (C-MAN) stations. The stations are located in the Atlantic, Pacific, Gulf of Mexico, and the Great Lakes and are operated by the National Data Buoy Center (NDBC). NDBC, a part of the National Weather Service (NWS), created Dial-A-Buoy to give mariners an easy way to obtain the reports via a cellular or satellite telephone.

The Emergency Alert System (EAS) is a national public warning system that allows the president to address the nation within 10 minutes during a national emergency. Other authorized federal, state, local, tribal and territorial alerting authorities may also use the system to deliver important emergency information such as weather information, imminent threats, AMBER alerts and local incident information targeted to specific areas.

NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is a nationwide network of radio stations that broadcast continuous weather information from the nearest National Weather Service office based on your physical location.

The Telecompute Corporation provides transport and content for local and national weather and information lines around the country. Here are some of the numbers answering tens of thousands of calls every single day:

Take the weather with you on your mobile phone! Wherever you are, you can get the local weather forecast from the National Weather Service with one click on your home screen. Bookmark mobile.weather.gov to make sure that you have the latest weather news and information on the go.

I've power cycled about eight times. It's not a big deal, I have weather on my watch. It was just handy to get alerts sometimes on longer rides when conditions in Holland might change from what was forecasted in Germany. You know how accurate weather forecasters are. ;-)

The weather feature doesn't play well with the ios16 beta.

Complaint about this on the Fenix series

I can use it if I'm connected to my iPad iPad OS 15) but not my phone (iOS 16)

-Your phone alerts should be used as a redundancy to ensure you get some sort of message by at least one medium. Mobile WEAs are a very useful backup to tornado sirens, broadcast messages on your television, weather radios and your Weather Channel app.

-Some alerts are only distributed to phones within a certain radius of the emergency. Examples of those include Amber Alerts and \\\"imminent danger\\\" warnings such as an active shooter. Wednesday's test is a national alert.

Welcome to the North Dakota 511 Web page. The information on this page is intended to give you a better understanding of what the North Dakota 511 Travel Information Service is and how it works. 511 is a national telephone service for travelers to get the information they need to safely travel across North Dakota and the nation by calling 511 from any type of phone. Motorists can access weather and road information, road construction reports, and seasonal load restriction information through this one telephone number. *When calling from out of state dial 1-866-696-3511.*

Have you ever been driving down the road and heard a weather report on the radio stating good visibility at the same time you're leaning over the steering wheel trying to see the front end of your car during a ground blizzard? This was the catalyst for the idea of providing route specific road and weather conditions in-vehicle in 1995. With the cooperation of the North Dakota Congressional Delegation, the University of North Dakota secured funding through the Federal Highway Administration to work with the North Dakota Department of Transportation to construct, test, and develop a proof of concept of an Advanced Traveler Information System.

By the winter of 1996, UND was providing 24 hour operations in support of #SAFE, a single region-wide number for access by wireless phones across North and South Dakota. In May of 1998, a new company began providing services in North Dakota, Meridian Environmental Technology, Inc. Technology transfer was completed and operations began at Meridian on November 1, 1998. After UND proved the concept for a single statewide number for traveler information could work, and using #SAFE as the basis for a national model, the USDOT filed a formal request with the FCC to assign a nation-wide "511" traveler information number, replacing over 300 separate numbers across the US.

511 is FREE and simple to use. Just dial "511" from any telephone in your home, office, or vehicle. If you are calling from out-of-state, dial 1-866-696-3511. Follow the instructions below to get the information you need.

As the title says I would like to know if this is possible. The Fenix 7 connects automatically to wifi when in range to sync, but it seems the weather app need to be connected to the phone via BT. Is there a way to avoid this? Or another app which doesn't need the BT connection to phone?

If you plan on regularly checking your place on the map or reading and sending texts, you can also consider investing in a smart watch. A smart watch lets you navigate and communicate from your wrist, and you will still have your phone as a backup if needed.

This interference mostly happens when beacons are in search mode. If you are the person your partner is trying to find, you should be fine. But you can keep your phone at least eight inches away from your beacon just to be safe.

When your wife opened the app did she create her own account and set up the station? If so, that is why you lost the link to your phone. Either use the same account on both phones or have one use the web link you can get using the share icon.

When severe weather threatens Westchester, stay informed through weather updates either on the radio, TV, or online with the National Weather Service. When power is lost be prepared with a battery-operated radio or crank radio. It's important to stay tuned to important weather updates and in the event, an evacuation of your neighborhood is announced.

WEAs are part of a national system through which NWS, and participating state and local public safety and emergency management agencies, can send emergency text messages through mobile phone carriers. As opposed to most other emergency communication systems, individuals do not need to opt in or sign up to receive WEAs, as alerts are sent automatically to cell phones in the affected area during an emergency. WEAs have been the primary national alerting method for more than a decade and are especially critical during widespread power outages, when people cannot get updates on television or radio.

Acknowledging that WEAs cannot single-handedly prepare an entire region for severe weather, Attorney General James suggests that NWS should coordinate with local emergency management authorities to develop strategies for reaching vulnerable individuals and communities, including those with limited English proficiency. Attorney General James also encourages NWS field offices, like the Buffalo Weather Forecast Office, to work more closely with local leaders of civic organizations and houses of worship, who can ensure emergency warnings reach as many people as possible. Finally, Attorney General James requests that NWS conduct a comprehensive assessment of the 2022 Buffalo blizzard, including a review of its own public messaging efforts, just as NWS has done for other extreme weather events nationwide.

Ok, I have tried everything, short of totally "burning down the house" -- doing a factory reset with the Ionic, deleting it from my Fitbit account, uninstalling every instance of the Fitbit software, and then hoping that it might magically make the Weather app work if I start everything from scratch. I have tried everything short of that, and it simply, utterly will not work when I try to input a city name, and it will not work with my phone's current location. My Weather app is as dead as a piece of software can be dead.

How and when does it sync? I presume it syncs with your phone, and presumably via Bluetooth. Is that correct, or might it only sync with whatever Wi-Fi connection you used to set the Ionic up with, to begin with? And if it does sync via Bluetooth on your phone, how often does it sync? Is the frequency something you can set?

I had to go into the settings on the phone app, and go in, and even though it said current location was already selected, I had to save it, then sync again...I also did add a location manually to be sure, so that may have been the trick. ff782bc1db
