You are welcome to hail or flag down a ride with us, although, there are some things to keep in mind. Drivers must have a safe, accessible, and legal space to pull over and pick you up. App requests take priority over our flag down service and as such, riders inside the vehicle may request drivers not stop to pick up other passengers.

We love getting you where you need to go, but as an on-demand service, we do not currently book/schedule rides in advance. When you are ready to ride simply send us a request via the Circuit app or wave down a friendly driver!

We love having kids along for the ride but our priority is to keep them safe so our vehicles follow individual state car seat and child passenger laws. Please find the basic requirements below along with links to full state regulations. If your child does not meet state requirements they must be secured in a car seat or booster seat provided by a parent or guardian to comply.

In the United States, circuit riding was the practice of a judge, sometimes referred to as a circuit rider, traveling to a judicial district (referred to as a circuit) to preside over court cases there.[1] A defining feature of American federal courts for over a century after the founding of the United States, circuit riding has since been mostly abolished.[2] The term, however, lives on in the name "circuit court", a colloquialism commonly used to refer to the United States courts of appeals.

Shortly after the ratification of the United States Constitution in 1788, Congress passed the Judiciary Act of 1789, creating the U.S. circuit courts. These circuit courts did not have appointed judges; rather, two Supreme Court Justices and the state district judge would preside over cases. This created the practice of circuit riding, wherein Supreme Court justices would travel to designated meeting places in their assigned circuit to hear cases.[1] Circuit riding in the early United States was often an arduous process, requiring long travel on horseback or carriage over harsh terrain, months-long extended stays away from home, and difficulties in acquiring lodging (Congress did not provide accommodations).[3]

Circuit riding temporarily ceased in 1801, when the Federalist majority in Congress established new circuit courts that were staffed with Federalist-appointed judges. The next year this reorganization was repealed, and circuit riding resumed under the original circuit court structure. In 1891, Congress passed the Judiciary Act of 1891, creating the United States courts of appeals, which assumed most of the routine functions of the circuit courts, significantly curtailing the need for circuit riding. The circuit courts continued to exist (in significantly reduced form) until January 1, 1912, when Congress abolished them under the Judicial Code of 1911, eliminating the practice of circuit riding.[1]

What is the Sun Shuttle by Circuit?The Sun Shuttle, operated by Circuit, is an environmentally-friendly, electric public transportation option that transports riders through service areas from City Hall Circle to downtown Hollywood, on Hollywood Beach and along Federal Highway. Riders can quickly and easily get to where they want to go in Hollywood.

The Micro Mover pilot program powered by Circuit uses electric vehicles that can seat up to five passengers. Ridesharing also implies that a trip may be shared by riders from different parties. There is a space at the back of the vehicle for luggage and beach gear.

Please note: Riders must be at least 18 years old to request a ride or otherwise be accompanied by an adult. The youngest riders must weigh at least 65 pounds or use a child seat provided by the adult passenger. Pets are welcome for the ride at the discretion of each individual driver and other riders in the vehicle. Pets must stay on the lap of the rider or the floor and always remain inside the vehicle.

The Pompano Circuit, is an environmentally-friendly, electric public transportation option that transports riders through service areas which include: Pompano Beachfront, Fishing Pier, Harbor Pier, Beach Hotels, Downtown Shopping, Restaurants & more. Riders can quickly and easily get to where they want to go in Pompano Beach.

Each individual Pompano Circuit can accommodate up to 5 passengers. While there is no minimum number of passengers required, we do encourage people to ride together. The shuttles have a special area in the back for your belongings, luggage, and beach toys.

The practice of circuit riding by Supreme Court Justices is a concept as old as the federal judiciary itself, and has a storied history that spans the first 120 years of this nation's history. Yet the practice is also one of the least explored aspects of the Judiciary Act of 1789, and has been given little attention in the scholarly literature. In addition to exploring the history of circuit riding, this Article proposes its renewal by requiring Supreme Court Justices to spend at least one week per year hearing cases on the United States Courts of Appeals. As the Article explains, many of the reasons favoring abolition of the practice, such as the Supreme Court's crushing caseload during the late nineteenth century and the dangers and delays associated with transcontinental travel, are no longer concerns for today's Justices. Furthermore, circuit riding would confer a number of important benefits on modern Justices, including exposing them to a wider array of legal issues, the laws of various states, and the difficulties faced by the lower courts in implementing the Supreme Court's sweeping (and sometimes confounding) rulings. Equally important, having the Justices perform work on the circuit courts is both reasonable and workable, and closely matches the competencies of the Justices to the courts on which they would sit. This Article argues that it is time to renew an important component of the framers' vision for a vital and independent judiciary: the practice of circuit riding.
