When the Trix send terrifying Ice Dragons after Bloom, she is stuck at Alfea for Christmas. It is up to the Winx to defeat the Trix and bring their own holiday "cheer" to Bloom. Can they get Bloom home in time for Christmas?

In the Winx's dorm, a festive Bloom is happily packing to head to Earth for Christmas. The other girls come in noticing Bloom's mood, who tells them of her plan to go visit Mike and Vanessa for the Holidays. The Winx are happy for her, but then ask what Christmas is in the first place, as they are not natives of Earth. Bloom explains about the holiday, about Christmas cheer, tree decorating, and giving out presents. The last part they understood, but Bloom tells them that it is more than that. She cannot quite explain it, but all she could say is that Christmas is magic. Meanwhile in their hideout, the Trix eavesdrop on the Winx's conversation. They also do not know a thing about Christmas, but they believe it to be a source of magic and they intend to get it for themselves. During Christmas Eve on Earth, Mike and Vanessa were preparing the festive atmosphere as local neighborhood kids were there. They all eagerly awaited for Bloom's arrival.

Bloom also finds out her calls were not going out due to the dome, making her upset and going inside. Stella gets the Winx and the Specialists to help her out by "bringing Christmas to Bloom". But first, they have got to get themselves familiar with the holiday first.

Tecna does some research on the holiday of Christmas, only getting the vague details (Stella inadvertently volunteering herself to play Santa Claus), but they try their best to make it happen. Bloom walks the halls of Alfea feeling saddened by the events. The Trix turn invisible and go to Alfea where they shove a girl down. Unknown to her, the Trix stalk her, but get thwarted when Faragonda finds Bloom, who tells her that the source of magic sealing them all in is right there in Alfea.

Bloom explains that this is a White Christmas due to the snowfall. Faragonda comes out to congratulate Bloom and that the holiday was not over just yet. She then used her powers to summon a portal, which produced a table, a Christmas tree, a gingerbread house, and Christmas stockings. All of Alfea then gets decorated with Christmas lights. Apparently, Faragonda had done her research.

Storer highlighted the extraordinary performances of the actors throughout the episode, saying that he aimed to keep them acting as long as possible in the big scenes to keep the momentum propelling forward. When at the airport, Del finally tells Rodney and Cassandra the full details of the prize, namely that the organisers think Rodney is fourteen. He persuades the two to go along with it, meaning that Rodney has to pretend to be fourteen for the week, with Del posing as his father and Cassandra posing as his stepmother.

The plot appears to work, despite bemused looks from the organisers, especially after it emerges that Del has altered the birth date on Rodney's passport. However it turns out that the organisers, in order to allow the parents of all the children present (also competition winners) a chance to enjoy the holiday as well, have set up a club filled with activities for the youngsters to enjoy. As a result, Rodney is forced into the Groovy Gang, a youth activity group, and is made to undergo a week of embarrassment as he is takes part in a variety of children's activities, such as skateboarding, in which Rodney comes second in a contest, and attending a junior disco, where Rodney advanced to the final of the breakdancing contest. Rodney is also the crush of a thirteen-year-old Bros fan. Both Rodney and Cassandra are soon despondent, since they cannot spend any time together, and are ready to reveal the truth, but Del, who is enjoying himself, pretends to each of them (separately) that the other is having fun.

As Spike wonders what his Hearth's Warming presents are, a cloaked figure sneaks onto the rafters and pours magical powder onto the Hearth's Warming tree, causing the Fire of Friendship to fizzle out and the Hearth's Warming decorations to be covered in purple, glue-like slime. Twilight, Rainbow Dash, and Spike spot the cloaked figure as they make their getaway, and as they give chase, they notice the culprit retreat into the student dorms.

While Gallus is called into Twilight's office first, Smolder tries to get one of the other four students to confess to pulling the prank, but each insists it wasn't them. Ocellus is particularly insistent because she has loved Hearth's Warming ever since it was introduced to the Changeling Kingdom one year prior. She tells her friends a story about how she and her fellow changelings started celebrating the holiday and adopted its various traditions, albeit a little bizarrely and literally than other creatures.

Twilight and Rainbow Dash call Ocellus into the office next, and Gallus also claims to be innocent of pulling the prank.
