The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a federally-funded program that helps low-income households pay for cooling or heating their homes. Miami-Dade County uses LIHEAP to help qualified residents pay their energy bill and offer additional help in cases of energy crisis.

LIHEAP Home Energy Credit may be used to help eligible households in meeting the costs of home energy. An emergency or crisis is not an eligibility requirement for this type of benefit. Citizen may receive one Home Energy Credit in a 12 month period.

LIHEAP

The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps eligible customers pay their bill through grants that don't need to be repaid. You must reapply every year - even if you qualified the previous year. Call 404.657.3427 or 404.657.3426.

By providing a variety of services to help families and individuals weather the storm, whether it be financial emergency, shut-off notices or through a multitude of other hardships, every year we serve millions of individuals across the United States.

Energy Assistance Services (EAS) seeks to walk alongside low-income households to address energy crises. In this process an applicant may be offered bill payment assistance, energy company subsidy program enrollment, and case management services. These services are designed to support household financial stability and help the customer in achieving goals they have set for themselves. In most situations, an EAS Case Specialist will meet with an applicant one on one to determine eligibility and to assess the need or opportunity for additional supports.

A light user is a Help Scout user that has limited access and permissions. This role is able to view information and collaborate with your team in Help Scout, but cannot interact directly with customers.

Bexar County residents who are interested in applying for light (CEAP Program) or water (LIHWAP Program) assistance can do so by calling for an appointment. Customers MUST call to schedule an appointment. Client walk-ins will be asked to return for their booked appointment.

If you need help with your utility bills, are in danger of utility shut off or are currently disconnected, apply for one of the free utility grant programs below and inform your utility company immediately.

The New Jersey Department of Community Affairs (DCA) has a variety of programs that can help you with utility bills, rent and removal of lead hazards from your home. Use the anonymous "DCAid" screening tool to determine if you are eligible for assistance, and for more information on how to apply.

The Universal Service Fund (USF) provides monthly credits on electric and gas bills to help make bills more affordable. Credits are based on the amount you spend on energy that are over a certain percentage of income.

Lifeline provides an annual energy benefit to qualified seniors and the disabled. The benefit can help eligible homeowners and renters with electric and/or natural gas costs. The New Jersey Comfort Partners Program is a free program that helps income-eligible customers reduce their utility bills through implementing cost effective measures which save energy and money while improving their home's safety and comfort at no cost to them. Through Comfort Partners, the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) and your electric and natural gas utilities partner with you to reduce your energy use and utility bills, improve your comfort, and increase the health and safety of your home. Overseen by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), the Affordable Connectivity Program is a program administered by the Universal Service Administrative Co. that helps connect families and households struggling to afford internet service by supplying them with a credit towards their internet service. Seasonal affective disorder (SAD) is a type of depression that typically occurs each year during fall and winter. Use of a light box can offer relief. But for some people, light therapy may be more effective when combined with another SAD treatment, such as an antidepressant or psychotherapy, also called talk therapy.

Light boxes are designed to deliver a therapeutic dose of bright light to treat symptoms of SAD. There are many different types of light boxes. All light boxes for SAD treatment are designed do the same thing, but one may work better for you than another.

It's best to talk with your health care provider about choosing and using a light box. If you're experiencing both SAD and bipolar disorder, the advisability and timing of using a light box should be carefully reviewed with your health care provider. Increasing exposure too fast or using the light box for too long each time may induce manic symptoms if you have bipolar disorder.

A light therapy box mimics outdoor light. It's thought that this type of light may cause a chemical change in the brain that lifts your mood and eases other symptoms of SAD, such as being tired most of the time and sleeping too much.

You can buy a light box without a prescription, but it's best to use it under the guidance of a health care provider and follow the manufacturer's guidelines. Your health care provider may recommend a specific light box. Most health insurance plans don't cover the cost.

At the risk of shutoff or behind on your electricity bill? If you have received an urgent or final shutoff notice OR have a past due balance of $250 or more, and meet the below income eligibility requirements, our Emergency Bill Assistance Program can help. Eligible customers may receive up to $1,000 annually (one-time per calendar year) in immediate, emergency assistance to reduce their past due balance.

The Energy Assistance Program (EAP) can help you pay your heat and electric bills! EAP provides a one-time annual benefit that can assist you with the high cost of home energy and can help if you are disconnected or are about to get disconnected . An EAP benefit will not cover all your annual heating and electric costs, so you should continue to pay your bills regularly. These benefits are paid directly to the utility vendor to help cover your heating and electric costs. If your utilities are included in rent, you may still qualify for EAP.

The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) was a temporary emergency water/wastewater program that helped low-income households and families during the COVID-19 pandemic. It was used to fund a one-time benefit for eligible households who had water/wastewater services with a participating Indiana utility vendor. This funding was available to be used through September 2023. At this time, LIHWAP is closed with no additional funding available.

Energy Assistance Program: Provides a one-time annual benefit that can assist low-income Hoosiers with the high cost of home energy and can help those who are about to get disconnected.

UV light therapy approaches such as UVB phototherapy and psoralen plus ultraviolet A (PUVA) can effectively reduce psoriasis symptoms. But the treatment involves quite a lot of effort because you need several sessions per week. Repeated and long-term light therapy can also increase the risk of skin cancer.

The treatment is usually given three times a week in a dermatology practice or hospital. It takes place in special cabins with fluorescent lamps that emit UV light of a certain wavelength. There are also lamps that can be used to treat individual parts of your body, such as your head, hands or feet.

The type of light therapy that is generally used to treat psoriasis is known as narrow band UVB phototherapy. Here the skin is only exposed to UVB light wavelengths between 311 and 313 nanometers. The idea is that limiting the light spectrum in this way reduces the risk of side effects. 2351a5e196
