Hey guys I just wanted to ask a question so I wanted download roms for my switch emulator but I am afraid nintendo or somebody tries to sue me. So I just wanted anybody to answer my question on if I caught for downloading a game I don't own.

Recently got a steam deck and wanted to emulate switch. Don't have a PC to download ROMs for steam deck and every website looks sketchy. I know you can download an ad blocker but don't know which one works. Any tips?

I was toying around with the idea of switching to a custom ROM on my new Poco X3 Pro and found this article in the process, will copy the article below. Please let me know why you would want to switch to a custom ROM if it's said to have all these issues as in the article? Thanks!

I was following the tutorial by OnNoItsAlexx (link below), but there's a step where I specify the switch roms directory but when I test/parse the games the filter, nothing is happening! If I specify the game folder/directory directly, the filter can detect it but that defeats the whole purpose cuz then I have to add each game manually. Also I seem to get multiple icons for each game corresponding to base game + updates and DLCs....should I put the extra files in separate inner folder to avoid this?

Check here for agreat guide on the many ways to enter RCM mode .This is the step that turns most people away, but i assure you that once youre past this point its fairly simple. I personally did the tinfoil method, because i did not want to wait for the plastic jigs you can buy online. This method is not recommended by the community and can cause shorts in your switch which WILL DESTROY YOUR SWITCH. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

If you do not care about online activity / your switch has already been banned, then you can download the NSP file. the only difference between the two is that the NSP file will act as a permanent app on your switch, without having to reboot into RCM mode. I DO NOT Recommend this.

The second compressed folder is labeled switch. If you followed the instructions from before, you should also have a switch folder on your SD card. transfer the .nro file from the first folder, into the folder on your SD card.

in the Retroarch folder create a folder labeled "ROMS", and within that folder, Create a folder called GBA. (also if you plan to play other roms, make specific folders for them as well, in all caps. i.e PS1 etc.

Rules state i cannot help you with this. once you have patched it, and have the .gba file, put it into your GBA folder in retroarch. safely eject your sd card and place it into your switch. note that this step works for all other ROM files. most other roms you will not need to patch, and its a simple drag and drop. note that every time you take the SD card out, you need to reboot into RCM to get to your CFW.

It is very important that you understand that anytime your switch dies/is powered off/SD card is removed you need to redo this step to get access to your CFW, and Retroarch. booting your Nintendo switch without entering RCM will result in just a base Nintendo switch.

You do NOT need to use teigra every time your screen turns off. if your switch is in sleep mode, you do not need to push your cfw again. essentially just keep it charged and in sleep mode and you wont ever have to re launch it by plugging your switch into your PC. every time you take your SD card out to load more roms onto you will have to reboot by plugging your switch in.

Hello, when I first downloaded the game I followed a video that provided links to the roms in spanish. Which at first seemed alright since It's my native language, so why should I care? I was awfully wrong, I played pokemon in English since Yellow on the gameboy color. It's really frustrating not to know what are the TMs. So I was wondering if I could switch to english ROMs without losing the progress, and if I can, will I still be able to play with my friends on the LATAM region?

I'm a bit frustrated because there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this. Even the Tinfoil website doesn't have a guide on how to use its own tool. I already have the roms. How do I sideload it onto my Switch? Every source I am searching for tells me "Tinfoil" but none of them actually explain how to use "Tinfoil."

i recently bought a switch and i found a website for free switch roms (softcobra) and i wanted to know if i put the rom into the sd card and then put the sd card into my switch and used the move data between micro sd card/system option and play the rom that way?

Title pretty much says it all. I've gotten notifications from ISP in the past when pirating PC games without a VPN and since then have always used a VPN when torrenting as well as downloading roms. I've never gotten a notification from ISP for downloading roms and would rather not use a VPN so I can get better download speeds. I generally do not torrent roms, used to use emuparadise back in the day and use Vimm now, so is it still worth running a VPN? Also does Vimm usually have slow download speeds (Would it even help my speed to not use a VPN) ?

EDIT: Total is up to 250+ games tested. Link to new post is here: 250+ Switch titles tested on RP3+ Skyline - 55+ playable! : retroid (reddit.com) . Its the same spreassheet though so this post works as well.

I know it's kinda pointless with how fast Skyline is progressing as things change every week, but I wanted to try it as the rp3+ is about 2.5 cm shorter than my switch lite which makes it better for my commute to work.

My question is: using emulation station for all my other emulating, it comes with Yuzu. Will that be set up for me out of the box, and do I just need to find and move roms onto my deck, or is there a long road of learning and tinkering ahead of me?

So I know of websites to acquire these roms on my PC, put them on the microSD card, and put the microSD card back into the switch, but I was wondering if there was an easier way. I'm specifically wondering if there's a way to get my roms onto the switch without ever turning off the switch (Won't have access to my jig for 2 days :/ so..)

I see people from other subreddits avoiding talking about switch roms and always change the subject all time. is there any worry about downloading it and playing? even having the game? is there any thing to be extra cautious besides VPN on download?

If we had a really obvious noob/absolute beginners thread right at the top maybe that could help on the spam. Or if we could make a r/romsforbeginners subreddit so people could ask whatever they want there.

I have Xiaomi mi mix 2s

I would like to switch from MIUI (xiaomi.eu) to some none-miui based custom rom. On my previous phone (redmi note 4x) it was possible to switch to any rom without formatting internal storage ( factory reset was not needed. wipe system, data, cache was enough). I dont know if i remember it correctly but i think some additional .zip file was needed during installation of new rom. (maybe i had some twrp that resolve it without that zip )

Someone gave me whatever latest Kirby game as a rom in exchange for a pc game I had tormented, and I also pirated TotK, but I just had the idea, would it be possible to put these games on a sd card and run them on my switch?

I have watched several YouTube videos but don't know where I'm supposed to transfer the iso rom to the switch I have ppsspp emulator on the switch and tried putting the game on it but it's blank when I start the emulator. Can anyone help please? I'm using v11.0 sxos cfw.

I have the latest patch of switch, and have learnt that its borderline impossible to homebrew the latest patch, so i was wondering if i could just place an unzipped ROM file on my micro SD card and it would read. I know it's likely a bit farfetched, but would that work? Or do i need to homebrew?

Do you know if uploaded stuff get checked or scanned if they are safe as well? When it comes to roms it should be fine but pc games could be different. With a good protection nothing really can happen anyway these days.

I have a couple switch roms. They are all .xci format. BigBlueBox has released decryption keys for .xci and .nca roms but the application is not understandable and there is no tutorial online on how to decrypt these roms. Please post down in the comments and tell me what you think I need to do. (And no, HactoolGUI will not work. It always errors out.)

When I try to load up either the NES Online or SNES Online App to play games, the games list will not load. Comes up with a blank screen as show in this screenshot I took off my switch. I am on firmware 9.1.0 and haven't had a need to update. I did mod my NES/SNES Online apps with additional roms and I tried to go in and delete all references to these but I'm still not having any luck getting the apps to load. I am trying to return the Apps back to stock and remove all custom roms. I would like to fix this and not wipe my SD Card. I do have backups if it has to be done but I thought I would reach out here first to see if anyone else has had this particular issue.

I have tried deleting the apps and re-installing them.

I have gone into the Atmosphere-Contents folder and deleted what was the SNES custom roms folder.

I'm thinking that there is still something on my card that I need to either delete or modify to get my apps working again.

I also tried deleting the game saves and restoring them. e24fc04721
