The BCG matrix is a strategic management tool that was created by the Boston Consulting Group, which helps in analysing the position of a strategic business unit and the potential it has to offer. The matrix consists of 4 classifications that are based on two dimensions. These first of these dimensions is the industry or market growth. The other of these dimensions is the relative market share of the strategic business unit. Strategic business units are placed in one of these 4 classifications. The BCG matrix for Burger King will help decide on the strategies that can be implemented for its strategic business units.

Some of the strategic business units identified in the BCG matrix for Burger King have the potential of changing from their current classification. For example, a dog changing to a cash cow. These have been identified in the BCG matrix of Burger King and recommended strategies to ensure such change have also been made.

High expression of EMMPRIN has been observed in various human neoplasms and frequently correlated with cancer aggressiveness (Zucker et al. 2001; Riethdorf et al. 2006). In cancer development, EMMPRIN stimulates the secretion of MMPs, which leads to the destruction of the extracellular matrix to facilitate cancer cell migration, metastasis, and angiogenesis (Gabison et al. 2005; Weidle et al. 2010). Furthermore, EMMPRIN also stimulates VEGF secretion (Tang et al. 2005; Voigt et al. 2009; Bougatef et al. 2009). It was also shown that EMMPRIN may enhance angiogenesis by activating the proliferation, survival, and migration of endothelial cells (ECs) (Chen et al. 2009).

Various preclinical studies have demonstrated the proangiogenic properties of basic fibroblast growth factor. This growth factor can directly stimulate the proliferation and migration of endothelial cells, facilitate tube formation, sensitize ECs to other angiogenic factors, and stimulate the secretion of extracellular matrix remodeling proteases (Presta et al. 2005; Nissen et al. 2007). Giavazzi et al. (2003) suggest that bFGF and VEGF work synergistically to elicit angiogenesis. Interestingly, Alessi et al. (2009) demonstrated that targeting bFGF may overcome anti-VEGF resistance; thus, anti-bFGF therapy is undergoing clinical trials as an antiangiogenic therapy for ovarian cancer (Burger 2011). However, this is somewhat in contrast to our results, because we did not identify relationship between the expression of bFGF and the active angiogenesis. Therefore, we speculate that the timing of proangiogenic factors differs in the course of angiogenesis because VEGF appears earlier than bFGF (Lieu et al. 2011). Thus, increased EMPPRIN and VEGF expressions in malignant tumors associated with the upregulation of CD105 suggest the early phase and/or very active stimulation of angiogenesis in the studied malignant tumors.

Previous studies at our laboratory identified four colon cancer specific nuclear matrix proteins termed CC2 to CC5 [3];[4]. The objective of the present study was to analyze the expression of one of these proteins CC2 in serum from various patient populations and to determine whether CC2 antibodies could be used in a clinically applicable serum-based immunoassay specifically to detect colorectal cancer in an early stage.

In this research paper, our main objective is to represent a direct numerical approach for solving time-fractional Burger's equation using modified hybrid B-spline basis function. The Caputo derivative is used to discretize the time-fractional derivative and for Space derivative Differential Quadrature Method (DQM) based on B-Spline is used. The DQM method has its own inherited advantage being a simple and programable method. The embedding of B-spline basis makes it more practical to approximate the solution curve. DQM with B-spline basis is a simple and efficient technique based on the matrix approach. The problem is discretized in the system of non-linear equations and then further solved by a programming tools. The stability is examined by the matrix-based approach. The presented method has been applied to three test problems. The obtained results showed that the proposed method is good for solving non-linear time-fractional Burger's equation. The approximated solutions are graphically represented and the results showed that solutions are closed to the exact solution.

Ivan Kurchatov, Nikolay Bulychev, Sergey Kolesnik, Ernest Muravev; Application of the direct matrix analysis method for calculating the parameters of the luminescence spectra of the iron ion in zinc sulfide crystals. AIP Conf. Proc. 22 November 2019; 2181 (1): 020015.

Using the new method of direct matrix analysis, the wavelengths of transitions of Fe2+ ions in ZnS were determined. The obtained theoretical numbers of the spectral bands of luminescence coincide with the numbers obtained in previously performed experimental studies, which confirms the correctness of the chosen method of calculation. The developed method makes it possible to purposefully choose from the entire array of transitions in AIIBVI materials doped with iron group ions most suitable for developing IR lasers with the required wavelength and spectral characteristics of the radiation, tunable over a wide range of wavelengths. ff782bc1db
