Spider Solitaire is a solitaire game where the objective is to order all the cards in descending runs from King down to Ace in the same suit. Once a run has been completed, for example King of clubs down to Ace of clubs, then the whole run will be removed from the table. Once the table is completely empty the game has been won.

Hi. My name is Einar Egilsson and I created this online version of Spider Solitaire. Spider Solitaire is the third solitaire game I make, after Klondike and FreeCell. Spider Solitaire is a variation of classic solitaire where you have to place 104 cards into four foundations by sorting them in a tableau. There are three difficulty levels in Spider Solitaire with 1 Suit being the easiest, 2 Suits being medium difficulty, and 4 Suits being the hardest.

Winning solitaire games generally requires a degree of skill and luck. There are hundreds of different solitaire game variations. Each solitaire variation has different rules and different ways to win. In Spider Solitaire, not all hands are winnable, no matter what you do. There are strategies that can increase the probability of winning, depending on the game.

The origins of the game are a little hazy. One of the first documented references to the word "solitaire" was in a 17th-century engraving featuring Anne-Joulie de Rohan-Chabot, Princess Soubise, playing solitaire. However, this was a different game as it used pegs instead of cards.

Classic Solitaire, also known as klondike solitaire, is arguably the most popular form of solitaire today. Moreover, it's the version you can find on nearly every Microsoft computer since 1990, further cementing its place in modern culture.

After shuffling, here's how you play:Deal 28 cards in seven piles across your table. The first pile would have one card; the second one would have two; the third pile would have three, and so on. The top card on each pile stays facing up, while the others are face-down cards. The rest of the cards will rest on a stock pile in your upper left hand.

The four aces in the deck will serve as the foundations that you place in a row above your initial 28 cards as soon as they become available.

The rules of solitaire are pretty simple to understand, especially if one already has experience playing card games. Developing a winning strategy is the more challenging part.

The short answer is no. Some variations could be easier to win than others. Still, it's improbable that every game of solitaire could be winnable, especially considering the randomness of the cards and the sensitivity of each move.

Spider Solitaire is a game that belongs to the larger category of Solitaire card games. As with the other games in this category, it is designed for a single player (thus the Solitaire designation), although it can also be adapted to include other players.

In its traditional and most common version, it uses two standard decks of 52 cards and 2 suits. The number of suits and decks may vary depending on the difficulty of the game. Regardless, the goal is always to build 8 foundations by suit and in ascending order (from ace to king).

From left to right, each column contains one more card, so the first one contains just one card, the second one - two cards and so on. In each pile, all of the cards are placed face down except for the last one which is upturned. The remaining cards are placed in the stock at the upper left of the layout (face down).

Your goal in free Klondike solitaire is to build the four foundations (in the rectangles in the upper right part). Foundations are built up by suit, starting from Ace, then Two, Three and up to King. Contrary to that the tableau piles are built down by alternate colors. You can move a single card, a part of any pile or a complete pile on top of any other pile, but according to this rule - alternate colors and downwards order.

Once you emptied one of the piles completely you can start or move a new pile (or single card) here, starting with a King card. So the aim of the Klondike free solitaire game is to eventually take apart all the tableau piles (and empty the stock) by transferring all cards into four stacks (called foundations) in the upper right part, each of the one suit, starting with Aces and ending with Kings. At that moment you win the game.

One of the moderately difficult solitaire games, Spider is played with two standard 52-card decks (no Jokers). This is called 4 Suit Spider solitaire and it's the most challenging variation. But you can play solitaire online two other ways. One Suit Spider solitaire - also 104 cards but only one suit (e.g. the Spades) is used. There's also Spider Solitaire 2 Suit where two suits (e.g. Spades and Hearts) are used. Both are much simpler than Four Suits. After shuffling, a tableau is set up of a total of 54 cards, placed into ten columns. In each column, all of the cards are placed face down except for the last one which is upturned. The remaining cards are placed in the stock at the lower right of the layout (face down).

Your goal when playing Spider solitaire free online is to build stacks of cards on the tableau forming descending suit sequences (from King to Ace). If a whole sequence is formed in one of the columns it is removed from the tableau completely. When all 104 cards are removed (as separate King to Ace sequences), you win the game.

A little more difficult free online solitaire, FreeCell (or Free Cell Solitaire) is played with one standard 52-card deck (no Joker). After shuffling, a tableau is set up of a total of 52 cards, placed into eight columns row by row, so at the end first four rows contain seven cards and the last four contain six cards each.

Golden Spider Solitaire is one of the most popular versions of spider solitaire. It has been available for a very long time as a Flash game, and now it is also available in HTML5. When you are stuck, you can press the stock to deal one extra face-up card to each tableau pile.
