If I try changing CA certificate to "Use System Certificates," then it asks for a domain name, and I've tried both spectrum.net and spectrum.com. If I try "Trust on First Use" it doesn't seem to connect, and "Install Certificates" takes me to a screen where I have no idea what I'm supposed to do.

Welcome to the Community! I'm sorry to hear that you are unable to connect to the Spectrum Hotspot. I'd like to ask a few questions to try getting to the bottom of this. When you say "hotspot", are you referring to the hotspot that is generated by your mobile device so that other devices can connect? Or are you trying to connect your device to an Out of Home wifi hotspot in the area?

I'm a Spectrum internet subscriber and I'm getting the unable to connect error when I try to connect to the Spectrum Free Trial wifi using my Spectrum username and password. I'm using an adriod phone. I'm also unable to download the wifi profile.

I was able to connect to the Spectrum Free Trial wifi and use it for the free 30 minutes trial but when I try to connect using my Spectrum username and password I'm not able to connect. I have called Spectrum several times and they have changed my password twice but I'm still having this issue.

@natividad7 & @CrouchingBruin : try using your full domain-proformic username just for kicks. Mine's the same as my de facto email address. You can verify what yours is by logging on to www.spectrum.net and then hit the profile symbol at the upper right-hand corner of the account summary page and it'll show it.

Is there anything else I can try? It doesn't make sense that I was able to connect to the Spectrum Free Trial wifi and use it for the free 30 minutes but when I try to connect with my Spectrum customer credentials I'm not able to connect.

I switched providers and I still have Spectrum Mobile under managed networks, and 4 of them. AND I still have Spectrum because I had had TV and internet with them as well. Don't have them for mobile, tv, or internet anymore, and everything is STILL there under managed networks, and cannot be removed. And Spectrum Mobile support was not helpful at all. They played dumb. Never even told me about this feature. Only found out when my hotspot was eaten up in a week. They virtually have none on any of their plans. Very invasive, forced to use my hot spot provided by my current carrier. Very bad. Worst move I ever made to switch to Spectrum mobile. Was with them for a relatively short period of time.

I have the exact same issue. Have tried just about everything, and it won;'t go away. Switched to another provider altogether, and it still won't go away. No other mobile provider ever did this. Captive network is right. So wrong! This should be addressed and fixed. Because I find it highly unethical what Spectrum is doing.

Also having this issue on my iphone 13 pro max, and im getting quite ****** off considering i just had two premature babies and my baby monitors are an eco system on my wifi network that i dont even connect to when im at home. called spectrum, they couldnt help, called apple, apple said to reset my entire device. that's laughable.

Yes, you can keep your data roaming off and not purchase internet and use texting. Did you discuss the cost with spectrum? Unless they have a cruise ship plan that is considered roaming, and you will get charged per text. If you are doing a once daily check in, it's probably not a big deal. If you are texting back and forth with friends all cruise, it will add up. And they will also have to have their cell service on to get them. If they are on wifi, they won't get your sms text. If you want to text with people onboard, you should all use the same methods of connection. Also, keep in mind that if you make any calls or accept any calls that you will also be charged per minute.

In late 2009 after splitting off from Time Warner (now Warner Bros. Discovery), Time Warner Cable began reselling Clearwire mobile WiMAX service as Road Runner Mobile, bundled with the company's existing broadband, TV and VoIP services. In October 2009, the company indicated that they'd be launching their incarnation of the service starting December 1 in Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Charlotte and Greensboro, and later, Dallas, San Antonio, Austin, Honolulu, and Maui.[34]

As of late 2011, Time Warner Cable stopped signing up new Road Runner Mobile customers under resold Clearwire WiMAX service. Existing WiMAX customers could continue to use the service, but TWC began signing up new Road Runner Mobile customers under resold Verizon Wireless 4G LTE services. As of late 2012, however, all mentions of Time Warner Cable-branded mobile broadband services have been removed from Time Warner Cable's website and most regional franchises, and eventually, those customers were transitioned directly to Verizon.

As we mentioned earlier, the website had us digging through home phone plans at one point instead of mobile. Spectrum offers a landline phone service that also requires Spectrum Internet to use, meaning you send and receive calls across your internet connection (cable or fiber) versus the traditional phone line.

Spectrum Mobile customers can use their smartphone as a hotspot for no extra charge. But Spectrum will slow your hotspot connection down to 600 Kbps for the rest of the month once you go past 5 GB of mobile hotspot data.

Both unlimited plans include unlimited talk and text, 4G LTE and 5G access, mobile hotspot (after 5GB, speeds reduced to 600 kbps) and Wi-Fi calling. Both unlimited plans offer free calls to Mexico and Canada and free international texting from the U.S.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA), an agency in the U.S. Department of Commerce, developed the Strategy in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission and the Executive Branch agencies that rely on spectrum for their missions.

After today's release of the National Spectrum Strategy, the Biden-Harris Administration will coordinate the development and publication of an Implementation Plan to carry out the Strategy. The NSS is envisioned as a living document, to be assessed and updated in the future as spectrum requirements and opportunities evolve.
