Suddenly the app for my Pro 2 is not recording audio (there is also no audio recorded on my on-line Ring account recordings). I did all the troubleshooting and nothing worked, then I noticed under Live View on the app that the microphone and speaker have a line through them. I activated the mic and the speaker and I could hear sound. However, every time I exit Live View the mic and speaker deactivate. How do I get the mic and speaker to remain activated?

Hi,

I am using a Raspi 3B+ with a ReSpeaker 4MicArray, speaker (with amplifier) attached to the AUX port - it works withoun any problems. Speech recognition including wakeword is very sensitive and precise.

Would be my recommendation.

Well, I have to say that there is something wrong somewhere. My buttons are not greyed out and it seems the microphone will record sound (based upon my scope readings), but I can't get any sound ouput from the speaker component. I was using the sample circuit for testing. It could be an incompaitiblity in my system causing this, but I am not sure. My audio card is a RealTec AC97, so this may be causing my problem, but I can't ne for certain.

There is a simple solution for this, Windows has build in microphone devices that allows you to record what Windows is playing. This feature is however, tricky to activate it. To activate, press right click the sound icon inside your system tray, press Recording devices. A window will show all installed recording devices, then press right click at the device list and select "Show disabled devices".

If you're have up to date sound drivers, there will be a device called "Stereo mix", press right on it and click enable. Now you can select this device at the microphone selection of your favorite chat program.

Dear all, i am planing to buy this speakers but i am interested if they OK for hands-free and how about microphone inside? Is it hear OK from 4 meters distance? I could not find any review for hands-free functionality. Thanks in advance.

This Windporting small remote speaker microphone clips to your shirt pocket or lapel and enables easy communication without having to remove the radio from your belt. Windporting remote speaker microphones lessen background noise from high winds, severe weather and other outdoor noises. This microphone is also designed to prevent water from clogging the microphone port and distorting your transmit audio. The IP57 submersible remote speaker microphone is tested at one meter for 30 minutes which is ideal for outdoor radio communication in wet conditions.

So, if you want to make your own Subkick, you need to look for a bass driver with a suitable free-air resonance characteristic and damping to generate an appropriate output signal. If you plan to build it into a cabinet, the same kinds of speaker-design calculations will apply to deriving the appropriate size of enclosure and tuning. In practice, trial and error works just as well and can be good fun, especially if you can pick up some cheap old hi-fi speakers with blown tweeters from a car boot sale!

For the speaker driver power on/off, yes, this is the correct register to use and will power on/off the driver. Note that if powering down, the driver should be muted on page 1, R42 to help prevent any pops.

MICBIAS and VOL/MICDET do not need to be used and can be left floating. VOL/MICDET is used as an external volume control or to detect headset/mic connection. MICBIAS is available to use as a bias for an external microphone if needed.

Hi,

I just installed ZorinOS but the audio and the microphone don't work while on other distributions it works.

I tried to follow the help guide but nothing worked.

Is there a way I can simply copy the sound configuration from one distro where it works to ZorinOS ?

Thanks per advance for potential answers.

The differences between the TSM3 and TSM3e can be found in the speakers and cables of the devices. Where the TSM3 features a 4mm cable, the TSM3e sports a thicker, longer heavy duty 5mm cable to provide workers in tough environments with the ruggedness they need.

Hello, I have pipewire, Alsa installed. My laptop speakers are fine, but when I plug my headphones in it detects the headphones as an input device (works) but not as an output device, and still uses built-in speakers as output. In the settings the built-in speakers are the only output.

This speaker (with built in echo-cancelling microphones) is much more convenient than a headset. It feels heavy and sturdy, and doesn't slide around on my desk. My only complaint is that the "directional" LED light-ring stays active even when there is no active call.

Voice Control Systems (VCSs) offer a convenient interface for issuing voice commands to smart devices. However, VCS security has yet to be adequately understood and addressed as evidenced by the presence of two classes of attacks: (i) inaudible attacks, which can be waged when the attacker and the victim are in proximity to each other; and (ii) audible attacks, which can be waged remotely by embedding attack signals into audios. In this paper, we introduce a new class of attacks, dubbed near-ultrasound inaudible trojan (Nuit). Nuit attacks achieve the best of the two classes of attacks mentioned above: they are inaudible and can be waged remotely. Moreover, Nuit attacks can achieve end-to-end unnoticeability, which is important but has not been paid due attention in the literature. Another feature of Nuit attacks is that they exploit victim speakers to attack victim microphones and their associated VCSs, meaning the attacker does not need to use any special speaker. We demonstrate the feasibility of Nuit attacks and propose an effective defense against them.

Note: For notebook products, your computer may enable the AI Noise-Canceling Speaker feature. This feature filters out all sounds except human voices from the laptop speaker. If you wish to disable the AI Noise-Canceling Speaker, please refer to this article: Why is the sound from my speaker abnormal? Speakers no sound, sound is intermittent or no audio, or only human voices but no background music

If the speakers problem happens recently, and if you have ever created a restore point or there is an automatic system restore existed, try to restore the computer to a point before the problem began to resolve the problem. Here you can learn more about How to use restore point to restore the system. If the problem persists, please continue the next troubleshooting step.

It took a while for me to finally figure out why I had no microphone a few weeks ago. Found input volume was set too low. Managaged to figure out issues in the CLI volume setting. All was working great. Never had any issues with speakers until now. Then yesterday I do the new update and I lost both microphone and speakers. They still show up in the audio info. I can choose my mic and speaker (both USB) in any app that uses them. There are zero issues showing in the logs about it. Completely lost now as to figuring out why no more speakers or microphone. Can anyone point me in the direction where to go now? Major setback for me.

I use a headset or my desktop speaker combined with my webcam microphone for calls. When I am on a call and I click on the audio button to change the speaker and microphone settings there is a drop down for "Speaker and Microphone Combination". There is only one option there - my headset speaker and microphone. How do I create another "Speaker and Microphone Combination" so that I can select it from the drop down, to then use the webcam microphone and desktop speaker? I'd like to be able to easily switch back and forth between those two configurations.

I connected multiple cameras and microphones, speakers to my computer.

There were no runtime events or methods discovered when I switched the specified camera to a different camera (same for microphones & speakers).

So I use these speakers only as casting targets. I don't use voice assistants so my Nest Audio is always on mute. The red LEDs are obnoxious though. You can open a Nest Audio by pulling hard on the front shell. It is installed like a regular speaker grill but a lot tighter.

I want to use dfplayer modules speaker output to connect to SIM800L MIC IN Pins. Can this being done? How to connect it? In other words Instead of a MIC input on SIM800L module, I use the sound out of the dfplayer module. Please see the attached file.
