The SSO I was referring to was a named component called AdSSO and was included with the 2023 installation deployment. Apparently that enabled single-sign-on which allowed using a user's domain credentials to activate a user's license instead of using an Autodesk web portal account. That technology goes back 3-4 years.
So single-sign on was never intended to assist with a single user account. It was a domain level thing only available if you purchased the premium option for enterprise customers. They have just today allowed single-sign-on without having to purchase the premium option. If you install 2024 then AdSSO as a component is no longer listed so I presume the identity manager is responsible for supporting SSO.

On the Set up single sign-on with SAML page, in the SAML Signing Certificate section, find Certificate (Base64) and select Download to download the certificate and save it on your computer.
To configure single sign-on on Autodesk SSO side, you need to send the downloaded Certificate (Base64) and appropriate copied URLs from the application configuration to Autodesk SSO support team. They set this setting to have the SAML SSO connection set properly on both sides.
