The Merkava (Chariot) Mk 4 and Mk. 4M tanks are considered the israel Defense Forces (IDF) most significant Main Battle Tank (MBT) serving together with the other Merkava models of the Mk. 2 and 3. The Mk. 4 is the latet generation in the IDF Armored Corps tank fleet, with its large variety of improvements as the new water cooled 1500HP Diesel engine, new armor suit on the turret and hull, and a new Fire Control System (FCS). As with the Merkava Mk. 3, the Mk. 4 is fitted with a 120mm smooth bore main gun, and has 2, 7.62mm MAG machine guns, a .50 Cal heavy machine gun mounted on the gun mantlet, a 60mm mortar and 12 smoke grenade individual launchers...
