For those of you who don't use siemens stuff, WinCC is part of TIA portal - to program the HMI you load up TIA Portal, drag and drop the correct part number into your network view, then open the left pane, select "Add Screen" and program away.

The power supply itself hums a lot, and there is no terminal for attaching a ground. Using exactly the same mains lead and supply socket, a SITOP power supply (which is around 15) is quieter and has a ground connector. I see no reason in this day and age why siemens can't make a non-humming power supply, it just feels like poor quality engineering.

I don't see how a successful company with many quality products like siemens manages to mess up software this badly. Might try the click PLCs next, heard they're decent. Wonder if it can connect to a KTP400 somehow...

I don't know why but there is an offset (by 1) in the modbus address, so if i want to call 0x00 i have to call 0x01. I used address from 1 to 8 in siemens plc to connect outputs located on address 0x00 - 0x07

All that is pretty much in place, however my assigment also involes the siemens LOGO PLC to either keep and eye on or atleast look at the M241 and then control some lights depending on the status of the M241. 2351a5e196
