After watching my sister use Snapchat to take a photo and then taking a screenshot of the result instead of taking it using the built in camera app, I was wondering what possible benefits this had for the user.

I'd imagine that Snapchat saves in a highly compressed format as it's sending it over mobile data, but does it display that on the screen to be re-compressed by whatever it is that's saving the screenshot? Or is there no difference in terms of size of the file and quality of the photo?

Snapchat also has the option to save the image to your phone before sending. This does pretty much the same thing as a screenshot, but saves as a JPG file, which is smaller than the PNG a screenshot would take.

Bug observed: The new update to how screenshots are generated overrides user settings. Despite having photo uploads set to only mine, my save prompt generated 3 screenshots that I did not trigger. Moreover, i could only ignore 2 out of 3 photos, I was forced to upload at least one.

So the screenshots offered for potential upload will be the same (automatic+manual) with all options and the difference will be which ones will be selected by default? Personally fine with that (not really interested enough in this to bother to find out what the different options currently do in reality), as long as the option to upload zero screenshots is available no matter what this option is set to.

In case anybody reads this thread, here is my code. It takes screenshot when user taps the UI button. Note, there is probably a better way to write/implement this, but this is what works for me at the moment.

We understand that with your iPhone 12 Pro Max, you'll take a screenshot and then in the Photos app, that screenshot is brighter than expected. Does this happen with any app or screen you take a screenshot in? We'd like to know if it happens in multiple apps or screens

yeah thats exactly the same with me. i take videos and then screen shots to use on instagram and the screenshots are completely washed out. like you i bought the phone for the camera upgrade. i should have stuck with my iphone x.

I have a ton of older videos in various forms, Hi8. Digital8, MKV, MP4 etc etc. I have tried every way I can think to improve taken screenshots and stills from these videos with Photo AI but the software has little to no affect on it. Can someone explain like im 5 why this is?

Before anyone suggests it my PC simply doesnt have the computing power to use videoAI to improve the sources and I dont need better quality videos, just still from them. So what is inherently different about a screenshot from a video saved as a JPG as opposed to a photo JPG and does anyone have any suggestions of methods or alternative software to make screenshots look better??

Maybe make the pixel size of the screenshots smaller to bring the detail density closer to the pixel density. This helps the a. i. to work on the material. For example: make a 1920 x 1080 image smaller like 1280 x 720 or 768 x 462.

As far as I know, Photo APIs (AssetsLibrary, PHPhotoLibrary) in iOS don't give an absolute path of a photo, and iOS SandBox doesn't allow apps to delete user's assets as well, which makes deleting users photos almost impossible. All photos saved in iOS device follows the same naming system: "IMG_001.jpg", which makes it impossible to detect whether a photo is a screenshot from their names.

For screenshot, its UTI is always a "public.png" and same size as screen (be sure you have multiply [UIScreen scale] on screen bounds width and height), just need to check these 2 metadata, you can easily identify screenshot.

Whenever I import a screenshot into Figma, the colors are wrong. For some reason this only happens with screenshots, not with other images as far as I can tell. For example, if I export an image out of Figma, and also take a screenshot of that thing in Figma, then import them both back into Figma, they will be different colors. The weird part is that when I open those images in macOS Preview, they are the same color.

I have Figma set to the sRGB colorspace. Switching to unmanaged results in the colors in my design files displaying incorrectly, as I would expect. However, taking screenshots of the unmanaged colors, and importing those, looks totally fine. The colors match. Switching back to sRGB seems to adjust that imported image, and now it is displaying properly in sRGB as well. On top of that, reimporting that screenshot that was taken of the unmanaged colors into the sRGB space also looks fine.

In fact, any screenshot I import into Figma while in the unmanaged colorspace looks correct/like the original. Then when switching back to sRGB, the imported screenshot gets adjusted, and no longer appears correctly.

Hey all! I had the same problem but screenshots was from iphone i realised that yo can just open image wit macOS standard preview tool and then export it to jpeg so its more convenient then using photoshop

I have used S22 Ultra for about 2 months. The photo and screenshot are automatically deleted from camera and screenshots files in the file manager. After I tried "setting --> show hidden system files" at the file manager, I can see the deleted photo and screenshots pics are hidden and the name start with ".trashed-123456789_the pics original file name". Does anyone knows if there is any wrong setting in my file manager, photo gallery or camera? How to fix it?

As the title says, when I take a screenshot and paste it into Photoshop, I get these messed up faded colors. See image below (left is what I get when I paste into Photoshop, right is what I get when pasted into MSPaint). I'm also attaching a screenshot with my picture settings (I tried fiddling around with the color profiles, but to no success).

I tried opening it directly, same result. (I saved the screenshot in MSPaint as "screenshot.png", then opened it in Photoshop, colors are still faded). Keep in mind I am using Windows though, not MacOS, as previously mentioned.

The numbers sent to screen have already been converted into monitor color space, but the monitor profile isn't embedded in Windows. That's why you need to assign it. In MacOS, the monitor profile is assigned to screenshots.

What exactly do I need to do to have the proper color space in Photoshop? I tried switching the color space around, but it seems to look the same no matter what I change it to. How can I tell which color space is the "correct" one for my screenshot? (i.e. the one that matches what I see in MSPaint, which in turn matches what I see on my monitor).

Whether you just reached a new level in a game or want to save an important document, you can capture it by taking a screenshot on your Galaxy phone or tablet. Depending on the type of device you have, capturing a screenshot may be a little different. Either way, it's an easy and convenient process for saving images on your device.

No matter what Galaxy phone or tablet you have, the steps for taking a screenshot are similar, but it does vary slightly based on the model. Before you take one, you'll need to locate the Power and Volume down buttons.

When you want to take a screenshot, quickly press the Volume down button and the Power button (Side button) simultaneously and then release them. The screen will flash, indicating that a screenshot was captured.

Note: This function may not be available on all Galaxy devices. The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite does not support Palm swipe to capture due to a hardware limitation. However, you can use the tablet keys or the Air command menu to take a screenshot instead. You can then view and share your screenshot in the Gallery app.

From Settings, search for and select Palm swipe to capture. Then, tap the switch next to Palm swipe to capture. Now you'll be able to take a screenshot just by swiping the edge of your hand across your phone's screen.

Remove your S Pen from your device, and then navigate to the screen you'd like to capture. With your S Pen, tap the Air command menu icon, and then tap Screen write. Your device will automatically take a screenshot of the page you're on. Use the controls to write or draw on the screenshot if you'd like. When you're done, tap the Save icon to store the screenshot in Gallery.

Is that webpage too long to capture in just one screenshot? Scroll capture lets you take multiple screenshots of one page and then combines them all into one big screenshot. That way, you get the whole picture. Plus, it works with all the other ways to take screenshots. In other words, if you use the button combinations, palm swipe, or even the S Pen, you'll still have the option to use scroll capture.

No matter what kind of device you have, you'll be able to view your screenshots in the same place. Just navigate to and open Gallery. You can also swipe down from the top of the screen to open the Notification panel, and then tap the screenshot notification.

Another way you can access these screenshots, along with your videos, documents, and downloads is through My Files. Just navigate to and open the My Files app, and then tap Images under Categories to view your screenshots.
