I'll be spending most of my time in the Championship and time trials for the leaderboards, so the graphical compromises in race mode isn't an issue for me. It's a rally game, it's all about time trials. The racing is just a bonus. Plus it has ghosts to race against.

@nilcam literally tap the brake, steer and get on the accelerator, that's all there is to it, then adjust your angle as you slide. We are currently submitting a patch which will have handbrake as an option and manual gears too.

Stumbled across this game whilst searching for 'best rally games on Switch'. Gave the demo a quick try on Android and it seems great (aside from touch controls) so planned to pick it up on Switch. All the comments here seem to suggest the game is 4.99 though and it's not, it's 11.99 which is slightly less of an 'impulse buy' price. Added to wish list though!

Rush Rally Origins, like most other rally racing games, features a diversity of racing terrain and weather. The different terrain and weather completely change how you race and experience each track. Before starting each race, at the bottom of the standings screen, are markers and text for the differing track content and weather situations. A major component to rally racing, in general, is working alongside your co-driver. Your co-driver is there to navigate for you, like a personal GPS of sorts. Rush Rally Origins features a plethora of rally cars to choose from. The game starts with a handful to choose between depending on the style and stats that suit you. Each car handles differently and can be tailored to your liking with various liveries and color schemes. Most of the starting cars are similar in stats with only minimal stat differences such as acceleration and handling.

The game features a clever unlock mechanic whereby you open up new cars by driving a set number of miles. Essentially, the more you play the game, the more cars you unlock. Some of the best cars (with the best stats) are naturally going to take a significant amount of time and driving miles to unlock.

Fortunately, you can recover from being in the red, which happens when you are achieving a slower stage time. The best way to get better times in each section and thus staying in the green is to simply familiarize yourself with each track's layout. Understanding the corners, jumps, terrain, and pace notes will all help you get better times overall and in turn, makes you a better rally driver.

Rush Rally Origins was developed and published by BrownMonster Limited for the PC back in April and is an isometric racing game putting players in the driver seat of a rally car speeding through various tracks. The game offers a lot of replay ability due to the time attack modes and both local and online multiplayer modes.
