It sounds like you have a Roku Voice Remote Pro. This model has a rechargeable battery. There is a port on the bottom of the remote, under the purple Roku tag, where you can plug in a micro-USB cable connected to a charger. If it is still functional after tearing it apart, you should be able to charge it and use it.

Hello community, I have a Roku device with Crunchyroll installed for about 2 years without any problem with an annual subscription, but this week I had problems with the application, especially with the remote control, since when I navigate the platform when I press the arrow buttons, it advances about 2 or 3 times. The control is good since in other applications such as Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ it works normally, this only happens with Crunchyroll. I have disassembled it and it is clean, it has no dirt, grease or any liquid. What can be? greetings

Given the information in this article I purchased the Roku Express and UGREEN micro USB to RJ45 Ethernet network adapter. Upon starting up the Roku to register it, the remote control would not work at all. I could see the screen on the Roku to select my language but could not navigate with the remote. I tried replacing the usb ethernet adapter with the original usb power supply and the remote control magically starts working and I have no issues.

Is there some trick to get the remote control to work with the UGREEN micro USB to RJ45 Ethernet network adapter that Roku claims works with the Roku Express model I purchased? Right now it is nothing more than a paperweight for me.

I've tried 5v 1a and 5v 2.4a and get the same thing. It's something with the USB network adapter that doesn't let the remote work, but beyond that I can't figure it out. Works just fine with the normal power adapter.

Many phone/pad cameras will capture IR transmissions. First, test your phone/pad camera by capturing an image of a remote that you know will emit IR. If your camera responds to IR, then check the TCL remote. . If the TCL remote does not emit IR, you cannot control PLAYBAR.

Not all remote controls need to be paired, though. There are two kinds of Roku remotes: The simple remote, which communicates to your Roku via infrared beam and doesn't need to be paired, and the enhanced remotes, which pairs with the Roku and uses RF radio waves to control the player. You can tell you have an enhanced remote because it'll have a pairing button, usually in the battery compartment.

Because it uses infrared light, though, you need to have direct line of sight with the Roku for the remote to work. If it's hidden behind a cabinet door or the TV itself, your IR remote won't work. And simple remotes aren't compatible with any Streaming Stick model, such as the Roku Streaming Stick+, Roku Streaming Stick 4K, or Roku Streaming Stick 4K+.

3. If you were in the process of setting up your Roku player, it should automatically pair with the remote. If not, remove the battery compartment cover and locate the pairing button. Press the button for about three to five seconds. This will trigger the pairing process, and the Roku player will pair automatically. You'll see a message on the screen when it's done.

Quick tip: If your remote is not working properly, try replacing the batteries. If it still doesn't work with fresh batteries, manually reset the remote, which will re-pair it with the player.

On the Roku, ONLY in the Spotify app, the remote up and down arrows often skip up or down... and with my Harmony 880 Universal Remote, Up arrow always jumps up exactly 3 items in any list (songs/playlists/etc.) and Down arrow always jumps DOWN exactly 3 songs/playlists/etc. Both the Roku remote and my Harmony 880 Universal remote work perfectly in every other Roku app. It's only the Spotify app exhibiting this probem.

Update: My Roku remote is now working fine with Spotify (although I'm not all that pleased with the Spotify channel, acts up a lot.). What I did was reboot my Roku, it fixed the problem. The too-fast problem on the remote hasn't cropped up again, but if it does, I'm hoping the same solution will fix it again.

I am having this same problem. The Spotify app on Roku is unusable. I just spent 45 minutes entering my username and password. I thought once I got logged in, things would be better. It wasn't. The remote is super sensitive and erratic. Pressing the button once makes the focus jump 2 or 3 or 4 times around the screen. So annoying. Obviously this is a problem. Why hasn't someone from Spotify joined in the conversation to give us an idea of when this will be fixed.

Same problem here. Roku 3 with Harmony Smart Control remote. Hit up or down while viewing options lists and the remote jumps all the way to the bottom/top of the list as if I'm holding the button down. I've tried it with the harmony remote as well as the iphone app. Same exact thing happens. It skips all the way to the end of the list with one single click.

Interesting. I just got my mum a Roku so I'll try this out soon. Although she seems to often prefer having the Zorin Lite laptop plugged into the TV and using IPTVnator with playlists like IPTV-org, even though there's no remote ability (yet. Installing PC remote control app on her phone is another thing I need to look into.)

It has worked flawlessly for me so far. I tend to work with a tv going in the background for background noise so it is useful to me to be able to control it without moving my controller all over the room.

I've given the Roku dev remote control app a quick try. It's nice to have the option of running from the PC, although so far I haven't seen a compelling use case for it over using the phone app. At least for my mum's current set up. I might need to experiment more to see the benefits (e.g. explore the scripting possibilities?)

But I can't find a Linux binary on its homepage nor in Synaptic (and I've no experiencing of compiling from source or "gitting" software).

There's a Reddit thread where the developer answers questions about the app, but the current Reddit strike means it's Private Viewing only.

The Roku app for the Apple Watch brings basic remote control functions, including the ability to play and pause content, to the user's wrist. The app also offers a home button, the OK button, and directional buttons to navigate through the menus, with the volume adjusted through the device's digital crown. ("What's Roku," you ask? Whole-home automation and control company, Control4, has just added a new option for its customers who want a customizable way to operate their gadgets. The $600 Neeo is an ultra-thin aluminum-body hybrid remote created by Neeo Remote Control, the Swiss company Control4 acquired early in 2019. With a small cluster of physical buttons within easy reach of your thumbs and a high-res 3-inch color LCD touchscreen, the Neeo remote provides both customization and convenience to Control4 systems running its OS 3 software.

If the Neeo looks familiar, that's because the company sold a very similar version to Kickstarter backers in 2018 for $369. When we reviewed it at the time, we were impressed by its sleek and elegant design, but considerably less enthusiastic about its actual functionality. It failed to provide a better overall experience than a Harmony Elite and many of its coolest features like handprint recognition and a lost remote finder failed to materialize despite being promised to backers. Some of its customizations like one-touch access to favorite channels proved difficult to set up.

Roku recently announced changes to its streaming player lineup, including a new version of the $100 Roku Ultra and the $30 Roku Express. But the company was apparently planning another change: Its popular Roku Streaming Stick+ just got a mute button on the remote and a $10 price drop. It's now just $50, bringing the 4K HDR streamer down to the same price as Amazon's Fire TV Stick 4K. The new model will be available starting October 20.

The Roku lineup now makes a bit more sense. Previously, the Streaming Stick+ and the Walmart-exclusive Streaming Stick+ HE were the same price, even though the HE offered a remote with a headphone jack for private listening and a set of earbuds. With the $10 price cut on the regular Streaming Stick+, people who don't need the private listening feature now have a more affordable option.

Harmony automatically imports your Roku channels and displays them under the favorites section on your Harmony remote. Commands specific to your Watch Roku Activity are also displayed for which you can add, remove or rename them.

Although Harmony has already mapped default commands to your remote buttons, you have the ability to assign custom commands to them. For more information, see: Customizing physical buttons on your remote

If you own a Television that has Roku OS built into it, we recommend using your voice to change between inputs for watching live tv and transitioning to Roku OS app content. Using the Harmony Express remote to navigate between the inputs will cause the devices to be out of sync in when you try to control them.

If your Roku voice remote is not responding, press and hold the pairing button, which you can find in the battery compartment or on the back of your remote. Press the pairing button until you see the Status light flash green and move the remote close to your Roku device to pair it. ff782bc1db
