Rita Springer, a gifted worship leader, started writing music for the church as part of the Vineyard Movement in the late 1980's into the 90's. Her love of music flowed out as an extension of her passionate relationship with God and what she describes as her musical "journal to God in private" which later became her public worship.

Rita published several songs with the Vineyard Music Group before signing with the then independent label Floodgate/Found Records, that kick started her recording career. She recorded six albums under Floodgate/Found Records, releasing passionate lyrics with prophetic undertones in songs like, "Worth It All", "I Have to Believe" and "You Are Still Holy".

In 2008 started the DIVE worship school (Deep - Innovative - Vertical - Expression). Her love for the creative arts inspired her dream to see others use art to express passion and love for God. DIVE trains and encourages aspiring worship leaders/artists from all over the world through weeklong intensive one-on-one courses. Rita has spent over 20 years touring, singing, and spearheading her own conferences for women, which culminated in the release of her first book, Finding Eve, in 2012.

In July of that same year, Rita joined the staff of Gateway Church, located in Southlake, TX as an Artist in Residence. In March 2017, she will release Battles her 10th album through Gateway Publishing. She resides in the Dallas area with her son, Justice.

In her final semester, she had to give a senior recital. Thanks to the excellent instruction from her voice teacher, Chandi Plummer, McKenzie has expanded her vocal range significantly, grown in knowing how to care for her voice, and become much more effective at communicating emotion and dynamics when she sings. All those aspects were on full display as she sang through her program of different languages (English, French, German, and Italian) and styles (classical, romantic, jazz standards, and contemporary worship songs).

I am a pastor and worship leader and folks get so fixated on their particular style of christian music and roll their eyes at other styles of christian music and at times are willing to leave a congregation over it. I am always reminding them that worship is more than the songs we sing or the songs we like. Sometimes the songs we like make us feel sentimental, but our trust in Jesus, our love for Jesus must be more than just sentiment. Our trust and love in Jesus is the oxygen that sustains us, that comes from Jesus, who is the air we breathe, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Like every songwriter, worship leader and artist whose songs are in Worshipteam.com, not only are the they licensing the use of their songs into the local churches music teams by doing this- but at Worshipteam.com we are committed to supporting them by sending all the appropriate royalties back to them. Nearly 50% of all the fees collected at Worshipteam.com flow back to the people who own and create the songs that are included in Worshipteam.com!

This is a very personal song, for a very specific worship moment, and less a corporate worship song. While I do not disagree with some of the concerns, it does allow space for a humble approach to a personal worship experience. We have a personal relationship with our Creator. While we may question the perspective, the purpose of worship is to provide a space for interaction with our God on the basis of spirit and truth. This song is intended to set a place at the table for a broken, humble, hurting soul. It expresses joy in experiencing the fullness of a relationship with the great I Am. In being broken we see His saving grace. Sometimes we can over think things. Is this one of those songs?
