"I am extremely impressed with the ring doorbell 2. From opening the box to find everything you need to install is provided, through to the setup and running of the device, everything has been fully thought through for a great user experience."

"We have the Ring Video Doorbell 2. It has been life changing, has put a stop to a lot of trouble I was having and makes me feel so much more secure. Installing it is the best decision I've ever made."

All Ring Video Doorbells can send notifications to your phone, tablet and PC when anyone presses your doorbell or triggers the built-in motion sensors. When you answer the notification, you can see, hear and speak to visitors from anywhere. The main differences between each doorbell are their additional features and how they receive power.

Video Doorbell (2nd Gen) is powered by a rechargeable, built-in battery or can be hardwired to an existing doorbell system. It features 1080p HD video and Customisable Motion Zones that let you create and adjust your own Motion Detection areas. (reducing unnecessary motion notifications and conserving the battery life of your Video Doorbell).

Photos captured will be saved to your Ring account for up to seven days. All Ring Video Doorbells come with a free 30-day trial of Ring Protect.[1] During or after a trial, you can choose to purchase a Ring Protect plan to save your videos and photos. Photo capture is currently available on these devices.

The Ring Protect Basic Plan activates video recording, photo capture and sharing for individual Ring Doorbells and Cameras. It saves all your videos to your Ring account for up to 180 days (default storage set to 30 days) and photos for up to 7 days, so you can review and share your videos at any time. Ring Protect Basic Plans start at only 3.49 a month per device.

The Ring Protect Plus Plan adds even more to your home security. It includes video recording, photo capture and sharing for unlimited Ring Doorbells and Cameras at your home. Ring Protect Plus Plans start at only 8 a month per home.

Same here for at least a few months. One thing I did notice this morning is that our devices have no problems showing the live view of our doorbells when configuring/changing the motion zones. No delay or timeout errors. Has anyone else noticed this?

We are now looking for another doorbell. After dozens of hours of trying to get the doorbell to stay connected, and dozens of hours on the Forum and on the phone trying to get it to work reliably, we are giving up. The problem is with the doorbell, not our home WiFi network. I am a WiFi consultant. So, we decided to replace our Ring Doorbell 2 with another doorbell from a different manufacturer.

When the door bell is pressed get a notification on my phone like usual but the chime (2nd Gen) is not notifying that the door bell has been pressed. I have reset, restarted, and rebooted the chime but no luck.

Funnily enough if the chime is restarted/rebooted, and the door bell is pressed, the chime will ring. The chime continues working as it should for maybe 10 mins, but after 10 mins if the ring pro is pressed, the chime does not make a noise.

I initially thought it maybe a faulty chime so I upgraded and replaced it with a chime pro, but the same issue is occurring. it will work maybe once or twice when the door bell is pressed but then does not work whatsoever. But if test the audio of the chime using Ring app it works as it should do,

I have no idea what is happening and any help will be much appreciated. the ring door bell pro works great and there are no issues with that, just the chimes and the integration with the chime to the door bell is causing a-bit of issues.

Title say it all. My settlement is lvl 4 as it should be for the feature to work. When Im close to the bell and right beside it, there is no interact or action button, nothing. Im on xbox one and it just seemed to be bugged out... Am i the only one with this bug and if not anyone was able to solve it?

Hey @Giademarco10! A chime kit sounding on its own could be caused by touching wires, or shorted wires, whether at the chime kit or the door. Keep in mind, if your chime kit is mechanical, you do not need a diode installed. Which Doorbell model do you have?

Hey @jrancatore! If you are using a digital chime kit, and only the chime kit is going off by itself, please ensure that chime is on our Chime Compatibility List. If the random ding alerts are also coming from the Video Doorbell to your app during these occasions, please check for any damage, debris, or objects near the Doorbell button. If this concern persists, I recommend reaching out to our support team for a more in-depth look. I hope this helps!

We have had no problems, until this week! The door bell rings, the dogs go wild and there is no one there ( or around the corner , or by the cars.) I got to the record of actions one the Rings and there is nothing there! The battery is good, we are not wired to the old door bell. Kind of unnerving!

We just had our ring doorbell installed yesterday and it randomly rings - no one presses the doorbell. In addition, the ring is connected to the chime that came with the house. It makes a noise as though a helicopter is trying to land on the house!

Hey @Tess207, the Snapshot footage being available is going to be different than the video being completely black at the beginning. Are you having a concern with Snapshots not appearing and being unavailable, or are the videos black in the beginning? If the situation is the latter, please attach a video share link so we can see what this looks like in video format!

Our Ring doorbell just rang while we were home. This is the 1st time (to my knowledge) it has happened. I checked our (non-Ring) cameras and there was nobody there. I literally watched the video footage while the doorbell rang and it happened on its own. I agree with the previous comment, Ring has certainly NOT resolved or solved the issue.

Ours rang without anyone being there. I looked around to see if there was some pranking us; no one there. I went back to look at the log, for when the door bell is activated; nobody or record of anyone. I checked to see if there was a problem in the doorbell. The battery was low and needing to battery. So far no fantom rings! Maybe the battery was the problem.

When a visitor rings the doorbell they are only able to ring it once not multiple times.

Not good if u dont have your phone on you and you dont hear the chime either. Is there an option anywhere that the bell can be rung more than once if you dont hear it the first time

Good question @Ric1! If your Doorbell is pressed an event will begin recording and notification is sent. While additional presses will not notify again during the event, the recording will usually end in about 30 seconds (depending on model), and become available for another ding event moments afterward. I hope this helps!

If your existing chime kit is too short of a ring or not loud enough, our Chime devices feature a volume setting and various tones to choose from. You can also have multiple and plug them in close to the door for visitors to hear. These devices can be found on our accessories page at Ring.com. Alternatively, here is our chime kit compatibility list which may contain a louder chime kit or a digital one with more sound options.

Looking for a solution as well. I run an electrical company and will need about 200 units for a major job downtown, but this will definitely but a deal breaker. I have a pro installed at home and if you miss the first time the doorbell was pressed, you are likely to miss a visit or a package from being delivered for the simple fact that a second or third press does not ring the doorbell. Pretty ridiculous.

My ring is connected to my alexa devices. When the button is pressed, not only does my mechanical chime go off, but the ring sound plays out of all my alexa devices followed by an announcement from alexa that someone is at the door. I know its not the ideal solution but we never miss a ring. LOL.

Mine is also, I was just curious because it used to ring twice with one press of the button. So trying to figure out if that is the way it was supposed to be or was it an issue and is now operating as designed.

I get it chat bot. But the problem is this happens to any ring doorbell exposed to the sun after a couple of years. Its a pita to contact support. Have them tell you its out of warranty and have to buy and install a new one. Maybee you can come up with a subscription program where you send a new one every couple of years. That or change the build quality to include a glass lens to cover the optics. Smh. ff782bc1db
