I am currently running Splunk Enterprise 6.5.2, though this problem has persisted in one of our instances for a bit.

Everytime a search is attempted, we immediately get the familiar messages that it was cancelled remotely.

Does anyone else have a recurring, mysterious problem with their Square saying that the cash drawer was closed remotely? This had happened to us occasionally (no idea who or what could be "closing the cash drawer remotely"), and has now happened twice in one week. It's especially irksome because there is no way to get the printout from the "closed" drawer that started at the beginning of the day, and the printout at the end of the night only has partial information on it as to how much money was taken in that day. Just wondering if anyone had any similar experiences or insight!

Really, the above posters have two questions. The one that is important for me (and I believe @KirkJones below too) is being randomly prompted with "Cash Drawer Closed Remotely; This cash drawer was closed remotely. Start a new cash drawer to continue."). The issue for us is the POS will prompt this to one of my employees when they go to check someone out (someone with absolutely no responsibility for opening and closing/ending the cash drawer), they open a new drawer just to move on (not knowing what they are doing), which later in the day throws everything off.

My question, and I believe @KirkJones' and @ludington's too, is what is causing the system to close a cash drawer remotely? I am almost certain no one is doing this and it seems more like something Square is doing automatically. Is it possible Square itself remotely/automatically closes an old cash drawer that was unintentionally left open? It's the only possible explanation I can think of.

Frida, im not sure you have read the question, the poeple on this thread clearly know how cash management works. The question is how can a single device with cash management have the following error / info message: "Cash Drawer Closed Remotely; This cash drawer was closed remotely. Start a new cash drawer to continue."

We have had the exact same problem twice in as many months and I find it ironic that customer support hasn't understood this question. Our systems/drawers are randomly giving the prompt that the cash drawer is closed remotely, and forces to open a new one, which then skews the cash count. None of our assigned employees are doing this (for us, it's limited to one drawer, and one user opening/closing). It's as if the POS is being hacked, or it stops communicating, or a bug, or something. I was hoping to hear a concrete answer from the Square Team, but all I see is responses of "Try this same answer to the question you're not asking" and "give us more info" when all the info is there. Am I missing anything? Would love a technical insight from the Square team on this "ghost in the system".

I have no luck connecting to my lock using the bridge when I am not in my condo. It connects fine while I am in the unit but if I am remote it fails to connect. Which somewhat makes the app useless as I would want to be able to open and close the door remotely and/or check the status to be sure I have locked the door.

That being said, how should we go about remotely pushing a wipe and re-install of Mojave? Is there an easy way to do it via command line? What about if the Install Mojave.app isn't there anymore since we are on a current rev?

The question was can you remotely re-image, the answer is yes and no. Yes you can wipe the OS and get it to the initial setup screen so technically that probably is re-imaged but it's not built so that's a no.

While I echo many of the comments here, I should mention in our workflow, we have all the steps automated with everything being predicated on the correct name. Once the computer is wiped and the new OS loaded, we only have to someone click through those first three screens to get the computer re-enrolled. When enrolled, we never touch the computer again unless we want to remotely wipe and reload the OS and applications. In many respects, this is a very simple setup for the end users involved in our labs.

This the dumbest functionality that RING could build in. The whole purpose of Ring is to remotely monitor your premises. Power outages are common everywhere. Not being able to reconnect after an outage means losing access to monitoring until you return.

WHY HAVE REMOTE MONITORING IF YOU CANNOT RECONNECT AFTER A POWER OUTAGE

Every time I go away it seems to drop connection, and I cannot reconnect until I come home, its utter madness. I wish I had bought a proper wired system instead of this diy system that is clearly flawed and not fit for purpose. To have a remote wifi system that you cannot reconnect remotely through an app is just rubbish in my opinion, and it should be stated on the advertising.

Hi, I am using the Nest app to turn on the heating remotely, which it says it has done. BUT when I arrive home nothing has happened, boiler hasn't started. When I then approach the thermostat it then links to the boiler and starts. So absolutely pointless turning it on remotely to heat home before we arrive!!!

Is Home/Away Assist turned on? if so, that might possibly explain the behavior you're seeing. If you turn off that feature and just schedule the Nest as a not-smart programmable thermostat, can you override the schedule to start up the heat remotely?

Yes, turning off the above smart feature did allow me to control the thermostat remotely. I don't understand why I should need to turn off this 'smart' feature to do that. Was I right about the 30 minute session adjustments above?

At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, LSAC moved quickly to offer the live, remotely proctored LSAT. This allowed for more than 100,000 law school aspirants to continue their legal education journeys. Since May 2020, LSAT takers have expressed their preference to keep the live, remotely proctored test as an option. Through Prometric, LSAC will continue to offer the LSAT in a live, remotely proctored format for the 2023-2024 testing year.

Through our deep commitment to disability rights, we will continue to address the needs of all individuals with disabilities who require testing accommodations. Whether you choose to take your LSAT in person at a test center or remotely on your own computer, we will make every effort to ensure all individuals are able to fully demonstrate their skills when they take their test.

I use a remote desktop program (usually Microsoft's Remote Desktop) to connect to a Windows machine everyday. The remote computer has a fixed IP address, and if the computer is on and responsive, I can access it and even reboot the computer remotely if necessary.

At my place of work, we are a Dell shop. A lot of newer "high-end" Dell computers (T5400 and T5500 specifically) have a feature called AMT (that we don't use for some reason...). Supposedly it is a component that lets you remote reboot (even if the system is hung or powered off) and access the BIOS remotely. I don't know if you can get something with similar capability on a PCI card. I'm sure other manufacturers have a similar feature in their higher-end workstations and something like this is likely what you want.

In the case of Windows Remote Desktop Connection (RDC), which you appear to use, assuming it's not the blue-screen-of-death and just a frozen program causing RDC to hang, which is typically the case, I highly recommend PsTools. PsTools is free at Windows Sysinternals, the location of Mark Russinovich's developer tools for Windows. It's like using telnet in Linux, which you could also use in Windows for this by installing/enabling a telnet client locally and remotely. The nice thing about PsTools is that it requires no remote software installations.

In the case of the camera, Wyze has already built in the ability to restart it remotely if the program running the video stream has crashed but the operating system is still running. They did that, cleverly, by using a completely different communication channel. That is why you can restart the camera from the app even if the video stream will not connect.

Background:  This is the first update of a review published in 2015, Issue 1. Chronic pain is common during childhood and adolescence and is associated with negative outcomes, such as increased severity of pain, reduced function, and low mood. Psychological therapies, traditionally delivered face-to-face with a therapist, are efficacious at reducing pain intensity and disability. To address barriers to treatment access, such as distance and cost of treatment, technology is being used to deliver these psychological therapies remotely. Therapies delivered remotely, such as via the Internet, computer-based programmes, and smartphone applications, can be used to deliver treatment to children and adolescents with chronic pain.

Objectives:  To determine the efficacy of psychological therapies delivered remotely compared to waiting list, treatment as usual, or active control treatments, for the management of chronic pain in children and adolescents.

Search methods:  We searched four databases (CENTRAL, MEDLINE, Embase, and PsycINFO) from inception to May 2018 for randomised controlled trials (RCTs) of remotely-delivered psychological interventions for children and adolescents with chronic pain. We searched for chronic pain conditions including, but not exclusive to, headache, recurrent abdominal pain, musculoskeletal pain, and neuropathic pain. We also searched online trial registries, reference sections, and citations of included studies for potential trials.

Selection criteria:  We included RCTs that investigated the efficacy of a psychological therapy delivered remotely via technology in comparison to an active, treatment as usual, or waiting-list control. We considered blended treatments, which used a combination of technology and up to 30% face-to-face interaction. Interventions had to be delivered primarily via technology to be included, and we excluded interventions delivered via telephone. We included studies that delivered interventions to children and adolescents (up to 18 years of age) with a chronic pain condition or where chronic pain was a primary symptom of their condition (e.g. juvenile arthritis). We included studies that reported 10 or more participants in each comparator arm, at each extraction point. 17dc91bb1f
