So, recently I was looking on the app store, and happened to come across remint. Remint is a phone app that supposedly let's you "mine crypto" from your phone. Sounds perfect, right? Well, don't be fooled, it is a SCAM.

The second red flag was the coin that you can mine. They supposedly let you mine a new coin, named "remint". They advertise this coin to be the next real estate coin, envisaging people paying for rent in "remint" coins. This is a red flag, as it sounds like a sh*tcoin. When trying to research, I found little to no information on the coin, it's technology, or any information at all.

The third red flag is the "mining" system. Apparently (on my phone anyways) you can mine 0.6 remint and hour, as well as a bonus one every twenty minutes. This is concerning in itself, as they give you 5x more coin per hour to interact with the app, then you earn "mining". They most likely do this, as everything you open the app, they play an ad. So claiming 1 free coin every twenty minutes boosts engagement.

The fourth red flag is very close to an addition to the mining. The "mining" is clearly fake. You can test this by turning off wifi (and even the device for that matter), and still "mine remint". This means that the counting system is entirely fake.

Overall, remint is a thinly veiled scam, designed to boost engagement to the app, so that more ads can be pushed. They didn't even try to put in a realistic counter (which is not to hard to an app developer). This is a
